Smiley day tomorrow 26th RPS Group plc("RPS" or "the Group" Group Results for 2014 The Group's results for the year ended 31 December 2014 will be released on 26 February 2015. Unaudited management accounts for the full year indicate that the Group's performance will be at the top end of market expectations. Despite the steep fall in the oil price since June 2014, our Energy business, which represents about 40% of Group fee income, grew its profits significantly in the second half compared with the first half of the year. This was without the benefit of acquisitions and reflects the resilience and long term nature of this business resulting from its broad range of clients and services, as well as its geographical diversity. The acquisitions made in 2014 have integrated well and will make a significant contribution in 2015. The terms for two further acquisitions have been agreed. These would further enhance the Group's performance in the current year. One, in the BNE: North America business, is likely to complete before the results are published. The Board continues to believe that the Group will have another successful year in 2015 and will deliver further growth.

Strongly undervalued RPS Group is the most undervalued publicly quoted engineering consultancy in Europe and North-America, based on a price-to-fcf basis (average free cash flow over the past 5 years). TETRA Technologies is even more undervalued but it has negative free cash flows in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and carries a problematic debt burden. Fair value for RPS: 368p (based on 21x the average free cash flow of the past 5 years).I bought shares at a price of 204.2p

UK Market Survey Report Just released today, this Overview introduction is worth knowing as to how the market is growing:The latest report from business intelligence andmarket research firm Environment Analyst finds thatthe UK environmental consultancy (EC) sectorexpanded by a solid 5.6% in 2013, to stand at £1,424million. This follows a rise of 3.1% in 2012 and 1.9%in 2011, after two consecutive years of significantdeclines at the height of recession (see Figure 1).However, it is yet to surpass its pre-recession peak of£1,556 million recorded in 2008.The recent performance is still impressive given thatthe UK economy grew less than two per cent in realterms in 2013. Growth is expected to continue ataround the 5% mark in 2014, according to EA’smarket projections.

Re: Where are all the holders? It's looking like a good buying/top-up opportunity, but i'm just thinking that with the oil price fall then spending on 'environmental' add-ons, not legislative compliance needs, might be one of the first things to suffer from budget cuts at BP, Shell, etc. And just having been in Australia for a month, their business model based on natural resource export is tanking and RPS have quite an exposure there? So on balance i will sit and wait for 175p before topping up (which was my average entry point some years ago!)

Re: Where are all the holders? This Company suffers from poor PR. Seems to think a low profile is OK. Not in todays world. Go ahead business in steady market area deserves better.

Re: Where are all the holders? It's been demoted from neutral to underweight by JPMorgan Cazenove. But even if the analysts have been shading their forecasts, the fundamentals still look reasonably okay, so my vote is for holding.

Montman 15 Dec 2014

Where are all the holders? No posts on here for a long time and the SP has been dropping away.Any thoughts or reaction?
