First of all, the good news.... (??) To the untrained (in mining) ears this news of even more gold and copper deposits in the Ming mine is very reassuring. However, having come just a few days after quite heavy sales of RMM shares one wonders (but hopes not) whether this will turn out to be just the icing on a very bitter cake which will be presented in the very near future. Come on Management, show some confidence in your own company and buy some of these rock bottom (????) priced shares. Your continued avoidance of putting even the most miserable amount of your own money (from what the company pays you) into the company you manage does not show much confidence in its future.

Re: Unloading Lol... Shorting are we... maybe they are just taking profits

doc-lee 02 Jun 2015

Re: Unloading Perhaps that is why Management is keeping its fingers well clear of purchasing any shares even at this knockdown price.

Unloading I suppose after this 5.8m share selling today we can expect a severe drop in the price and an announcement next week that all is not well within Rambler....Regards KM

Re: Copper price ... and I thought it was looking cheap back in the low 20s when I last "topped up".i would be encouraged to buy if I saw some purchasing by managers and Directors.

Re: Copper price good recovery in the copper price in the last month or so now $6400 so should reverse the impact of the derivative but more importantly improve Ramblers cashflow given the recent large shipment neither of which is reflected in the share price. Looking cheap again.Q3 operating results due next week ?

Re: Copper price I am by no means an authority, but I would expect companies to use derivatives to protect their revenue, and or costs. It is not at all clear to me what RMM have been doing - the loss is almost treated as a throw away item, so I am very uneasy about their financial management. If I understood the statement on the last quarter correctly they lost $2.2 million on exchange and derivative losses.

Re: Copper price I readily admit ignorance on such things as companies ?investing? in derivatives. Is this usual and if so I presume it to be some form of investment. However, as Oldernowiser puts it it sounds to me like something akin to a gamble which, in this instance, has failed, losing (by the sound of it) a goodly chunk of our cash. Am I correct in this? If not, what is the significance of RMM "investing" in derivatives?

Re: Copper price I came across this and thought it may be worth sharing with fellow investors of Rambler:[link] KM

Re: Copper price They seem to have lost a fortune on derivatives - I had no idea that they were this exposed. If (big if) the copper price recovery is maintained then if confirmed for say 3 months I think some recovery is possible, particularly if they are able to extend mine life by a significant amount.

Re: Copper price Copper recovering a bit.. Not sure why that hasn't translated into any move in the share price.Do I throw the towel in on this one ? Lots of very cheap oil companies out there at the mo.Last results stating that Rambler was still cash-flow positive but yet the money in the bank had dropped significantly.. what's all that about ? Does that mean that negative cash flow would result in the bank balances going up ?Why no insider buys still, even at this low price?

oldernowiser 27 Mar 2015

Copper price Has recovered a bit and Canadian$ has weakened against US $ so this should be of some benefit to Rambler - long may the trend continue!

Re: RNS If you are referring to myself, I (personally) don't regard 12.5k as being a "whimp".

UphillStruggle 21 Mar 2015

Re: RNS Well I still think it is worth a small punt... It doesn't take much to move the SP either way. AIM market isn't for whimps.... But said that in the main market you can also get a nasty surprise. If you don't like risk get out...

AlphaCentauri 20 Mar 2015

Re: RNS In reply to KM the AIM market proves itself time and time again to hit the PIs with not only a lack of regulation but lack of enforcement of the few regulations that there are in the first place. Most directors know that they can safely ignore them. The same however goes for FT100 companies too. RBS anyone? I expect to take a risk in the AIM market but to get wiped out by a mojor bank whilst their directors and staff still get million pound bonuses (and no prison terms) make the AIM market pale into insignificance. Its all about balancing your overall risk. I just wish I had taken some AIM profits when I should have done but they are more than compensated for by the shares of reputable companies. Even Warren Buffet does not get it right every time!
