Our CEO explains how we’re taking action together Page Image Image CaptionPage Content This month’s edition of Courier will start landing at homes from tomorrow. Inside, our chief executive officer Moya Greene talks about what we’re doing to stay number one in both the letters and parcels markets. She says: ‘We all know how competitive the market is now on both parcels and letters. ‘We are seeing an impact on parcel volumes because of Amazon’s in-house delivery operation, Amazon Logistics. We’ve also seen a reduction because of Amazon’s £10 minimum order for free delivery. ‘Add to this the impact of direct delivery letters and some delivery offices are seeing both their letter and parcel volumes shrink. ‘The level of competition isn’t the same everywhere. Some places are feeling it more than others. But where we are being impacted, many of you have rightly been asking me, and members of the senior leadership team, what we are doing about it. Taking action ‘On the parcels side, we need to do what we can to win new business and keep the traffic we have by showing customers we are the best. One way to do this is to make it easier for our customers to do business with us. ‘As you know, we have opened up our network to big businesses at weekends so their customers’ orders can be delivered on Mondays and Tuesdays. ‘We’ve launched a new shipping tool for our large online retail customers. This enables them to connect their systems to Royal Mail’s software much more quickly. ‘Traditionally we’ve targeted small and medium-sized businesses. But we’re now talking to, and winning, more business from large retailers. In particular, we are targeting the new growth area of online women’s fashion. ‘We need to do a lot more of this. We’re also working much closer with large customers, such as eBay and Amazon, offering them improved support and looking out for new business opportunities. ‘New barcoding and tracking services we are developing will also make us more attractive to online retailers, but this takes time and investment. Direct delivery ‘On the letters side, we have made a submission to Ofcom asking it to bring forward its review of direct delivery competition. ‘As you have seen, many MPs have added their voices to ours and are also calling on Ofcom to act.’

for a company that is making profit there are no excuse for the share to drop in price. By now the price should have been well above 6 pounds. They are ripping off investors , as lots of people sell off ,Its very well been orchestrated ,and planned .People should just keep well away from buying those shares .

Royal mail shares drop should be under investigation . As there is no reason whatsoever for the big fall, the company is making money and also expanding the trade for weekends. This shows all positive sides of a successful firm .Its obvious share are been manipulated with the intent to rip off trades. Its a total scam in operation .
