BIG Wow So the directors buy at prices from £0.50 to £0.68 and within months announce a placing at £0.40.This follows a loss of $25M on revenue of less than $2M. At this rate the cash will be gone in 18 months assuming the cash outflow gets no worse. The stitch up also announced, sorry placing that ignores any preemption rights, should provide enough cash for a further year. The directors by way of explanation suggest that they hope to produce more pallets......Given the financial accumen shown by them so far in purchasing shares I suggest any PI's who are unfortunate enough to hold this dog get out now.Deep

Re: Wow! JDNot sure why you find this shocking. The directors seem to have little understanding of the requirements of pallet users. They continue to focus on and quote potential and expected production volumes rather than any hard figures and facts on sales and customers. Given the track record so far why believe that even these will come to pass? Also the RNS mentions packaging companies but they are not the key drivers of pallet volumes. Its remains the retailers who control the volume in logistics.Deep

Re: Solution to a problem? KuznetsovDid not pick up on that connection, it could be useful but I am not sure that "who supplies the pallets?" is the sort of area that executive or non execs should be consideringDeep

Re: Solution to a problem? Deep - Thanks. I was thinking of de Seze Carrefore non exec connection.Kuz

Re: Solution to a problem? Not sure about De Seze, a long time since he was involved at Volvo, and anyway by comparison to a supermarket they would have a small volume of pallet movements. Others, Rose and Blouvac may have some contacts but I suspect they would or should have been beneath those pay gradesMore interestingly Walsh and Decker who seem to be the founding figures are from a financial backgroundDeep

Re: Solution to a problem? Hi Deep. Do you not think that de Seze and Rose might have some useful strategic contacts in the Big Box/Super Market sector?KUZ

Re: Solution to a problem? BBInteresting comments re Woodford that if I can convince myself that they are true may make me reconsider my investment strategy, do it yourself and never pay for advice or a % fee for what is laughingly known as asset management. If indeed Woodford is getting no remuneration other than from success, how defined?, then I think it must be a first for the financial service industryDeep

Re: Solution to a problem? "The Company and the man do NOT get any fee unless the fund outperforms"Hi Brookie, RM2 is in both Neil Woodfords main fund, which is a fee based fund. The fee is fixed annual amounts (1% + churn fees) which the fund receives irrespective of the performance of the fund. Obviously if the stock values rise, the value of the fee rises, but there are no performance kickers.RM2 is in position number 55 in this fund and represents 0.37% of the funds total investments. The point you raise relates to the Patient Capital Trust Fund, which is a speculative fund and as you state, attracts no fee unless the funds performs above 10% of a stated hurdle rate, annually (this might be difficult to define) in which case the fund receives 15% of the gain above that.RM2 is position number 20 in this fund and represents 1.91% of the fund.I'd expect most investors and believers in Woodford would have only a small amount of their capital invested in the Patient capital Trust fund (closed end Investment Trust) and most invested in the core equity, "open ended fund".The top 10 holdings of the Patient Capital Trust are still highly speculative in that many have not proven their product in the predominantly healthcare/bio market.Games

Re: Solution to a problem? Interesting views on RM2. Please let me correct you on Woodford. The Company and the man do NOT get any fee unless the fund outperforms. Secondly any fee is given in Woodford Patient plc shares. So their interests are very much aligned with investors, indeed they are an investor too. In addition their business is new, well just over a year old, so sustained poor performance would indeed damage their business and therefore their livelihoods. Just to be clear, my name isn't Neil, I just want people to be properly informed.Best of luck with investing.
