Re: tilton... I'm still playing, and coaching cricket, but the bones are creaking. My body says pack it in, but I still love the game, and while i'm still taking wickets, and enjoying it I will continue. I meet a lot of companies, and Trust managers, but tend to avoid evening meetings due to my domestic situation.
Re: tilton... Richgym,I regards to your multiple trades question, I would suggest that this is a SETS stock, where bids and offers are posted on the board(I'm not sure of your knowledge so excuse me if you understand all of this). Algorithm trading now dominates day-to-day trading, and it is these program trades in mid cap or small cap that are most noticeable. I also hold MCKS, and a few months ago there was a trade that sold 61 shares every minute for three days. This sort of event happens in a multitude of shares every day.Ignore the myths and conspiracy theories.I'm certainly not Mr Johnson...whoever he is, but I am known by many people on the bulletin boards, as I try and post helpful information, most of it on a competitor board.
Re: tilton... Cricket...dinners...minions... Life is obviously tough right now. If you are in the business, can you explain something to me? It's something I've noticed often over the years, and, most recently, with regard to one of my other holdings. It is that, sometimes, you see a series of very small trades, either buys or sells, one after the other, in rapid succession, sometimes of just a single share - an action that seems to be pointless. I've read somewhere that this may be brokers signalling to one another. But is this the case?Incidentally, are you Mr Johnson?
Re: tilton... I'm going to the Dinner for brokers on 10th
Re: tilton... I think I'll go myself. I haven't done the nice run up to Birmingham for over ten years, and I can get into New Street station by about 10.30.
Re: tilton... If I can get out of my cricket duties, I will be going. I will have someone at the meeting either way.
tilton... Will you be going to the meeting? If so, can you post a summary of what was said? Thanks.
Bought some more... @56.5p. Which gives a yield of slightly more than 6% after the latest dividend increase, I think. The only risks here, I think, are a major recession, or a very bad Brexit, causing the pay-out to be cut. Otherwise, this is a good business in very good hands.Had no trouble buying through Selftrade this time.
Re: tilton... I'm not sure why Selftrade won't trade it. Have you tried ringing them?I have bought stock at 55.8p and 55.75p today, but I get my dealers to ring the MM.
tilton... I've been trying to buy more of these via Selftrade. A straight BUY will not go through, and even a limit order seems not to work, even though BUYs from other sources seem to go through at, and even below the price I'm offering. Do you have any advice?Dick.
Re: titonboy? [link] Sorry for the misspelling!
Re: titonboy? Rich,Many property companies have been de-rated by the market, but they have put the dividend up consistently, and are now more of a yield play rather than NAV. I'm still happy to buy them.
Re: titonboy? I just did a quick calculation of my returns since the first of my two purchases in July 2014 and discovered they were roughly 2.2% p.a. on today's sell price. Not good.
titonboy? What are you views on the recent bump?
Re: A disappointing performance here... Just checked. 330k. The MMs seemed to have seen that coming. Whoever sold was forced to get out at about 8% less than a short while ago.
