Bring back the old discussion format now! frog_in_a_tree: ii tell us that it had to be discontinued due to outdated software. The old forum was creaking a little but that was due to the lack of love given to it. From a technical perspective it was coded in Perl which deem to be old hat but actually continues to be a feature rich and powerful programming language. I have no doubt it could have been updated to add features like edit, delete post… they just didn’t want to do it in house anymore.

Bring back the old discussion format now! It is an absolute shambles, and now the Product Lead, Hamish, who helped to drive and deliver this dogs dinner has left ii, as of today. But at least, in his own words, he has “learned a lot” and “enjoyed the experience”, and looks forward to his “next challenge”.

Bring back the old discussion format now! I do think it is time that we had a response from ii on the situation that they have created. For a start, an apology wouldn’t go amiss. We are left with a Virtual Portfolio which doesn’t have the ability to account for cash or funds that are not supported by ii. WHY??? We have lost the integration between discussions and the portfolio. We have lost pricing information which we used to have at the top of our discussion. It is now quite a faff to get to pricing info. We have lost RNS. We have lost the detail we used to get under the fundamentals tab…including the very useful dividend history. WHY??? We have lost the richness in the debates on our discussion boards as paying and non-paying customers have deserted the service. We have lost the ignore function on the message boards but, it has to be said, this has been mitigated by the fact that most of the worst offenders have abandoned the boards in any case. I will make one final point which is that the old portfolio and message board worked well with few complaints for many years (since 1999?). ii tell us that it had to be discontinued due to outdated software. Well, maybe, but up to date software should enable an improved customer experience, not a hobbled one. Come on ii, give us a proper explanation and explain how you are going to restore lost functionality. Frog in a tree

Bring back the old discussion format now! Well finally had enough. If iii do not value their customers (many start with none subscriptions before becoming subscribers) then to me the site is not worth bothering with. Would just like to say I have enjoyed most of the discussions and banter over the years. So goodby and best of luck to all. Regards Pond.

Bring back the old discussion format now! A real shame of what’s become of the ii forum. It’s pretty dead on a daily basis, perhaps this just didn’t generate any revenue and therefore was seen as a hindrance. I still read here (and obviously notice the lack of posts) but see far more relevant information over on lse. What’s really annoying to me is with the previous site I could login, see my prices and get updated on posts in a really short time which I used to do daily, now it feels like a chore. It’s not been a good change.

Bring back the old discussion format now! Surely if this is a 3rd party software, they can through them demand a change back to the format that everyone appears to proffer. My son works in such an industry and they are often asked to alter software supplied, when they find it is not up to their expectations. The only problem I see, is as someone else hinted, iii just do not want to admit a disastrous mistake, nor do they care what we, the customer think.

Private Discussion Boards on III Yeah it would have been nice to have had a warning that they were going to close them before they actually did !!

A simple solution I am surprised anyone is left here now tbh. I suggest moving to LSE. Keep the same user names? Even Essex/ garbled is over there i believe, going under “falklandinvestor”. He was always entertaining…
