CityFALCON and Genuine Impact I did, I’ll be keeping a close on their raise. I signed up for the investor info deck and it looks interesting. They said they will send out the pitch deck and more details about the raise soon. Just double checked the site and I couldn’t see the link on the home page, I guess they are still keeping it quiet. The investor link from the email: Genuine Impact Investors | Genuine Impact | Worlds first financial terminal for DIY investors Investor information for Genuine Impact. We have a vision to narrow the wealth inequality gap through investing. If you haven’t seen the info deck yet it’s worth giving it a check. Personally I’ve never done any crowdfunding so I’ll be watching the process carefully.

CityFALCON and Genuine Impact I just received an email from genuine impact that they are raising seed money through crowdfunding. I guess it is very new then! Did you get the email as well?

CityFALCON and Genuine Impact Enjoy, you’ll find it’s a different order of discussion over there. DL

CityFALCON and Genuine Impact Thanks for all the helpful tips! I’m going to open up a lemon fool account too. Get some more views on the investing world. Thank you DL!

CityFALCON and Genuine Impact FundamentalTom: I’m listening to people on here That might not the best move. Many repected posters have left the site. I spend most of my time on The Lemon Fool [link] It has much more of an long invetsing to short term trade theme. Certainly, the ideologues on here would get short thrift on the Fool. DL

CityFALCON and Genuine Impact I’m listening to people on here so I guess I’m willing to accept Tipsters. Great shout with visualping, seems very easy to use so far. I’ll be watching Liam like a fox.

CityFALCON and Genuine Impact FundamentalTom: Stockomendation I’ve seen with the digital look stuff, is it any good? That depends if you value “tipsters” I leave you to make your own mind up on that point. Yes, Visualping is good. It’s very helpful if you don’t want to subscribe or keep making regular visits. Liam Fox is on the BBC Parliamentary channel as we speak. DL

CityFALCON and Genuine Impact Thanks for the suggestions guys. Stockomendation I’ve seen with the digital look stuff, is it any good? I guess being an investor you might know more about them than just what they say. Visual Ping looks fantastic, that will be very useful for keeping an eye on the irregular stuff. I haven’t just invested in those stocks but they re my biggest holdings! I’m not too worried about Brexit, we have f’ed up enough so I can’t see our politicians allowing it to get any worse.

CityFALCON and Genuine Impact Hi Tom, Yes, I’ve used CityFalcon. Mainly because I considered investing in the business. I didn’t find either a good proposition. It’s easy enough to replicate the news aggregation yourself. I’ve recently invested in Stockomendation [link] Have you had a look at that one? “Search Share Tips & Compare Tipsters Get the share tips, performance data & research links - it’s all here Stockomendation is essential for anyone investing in the UK stock market.” I also in the past had a subscription with Investors Chronicle and now weekly download the Shares Magazine (as it’s free) I have a “visual ping”, they monitor multiple website for update for me and email when there’s a change. Including [link] Which is a might big read! I find Visual Ping [link] creat for monitor sites with irregular publications and where I have holdings in tradeable, but unlisted, positions. I like Nutmeg and have a regualr saving plan with them. Nothing significant. I also take great interest in their selection of ETF’s. DL

Happy times Fair enough I may have called this wrong … no, really ! I had worried that Trump efforts to pull the rug from under global trade might have seen commodity futures sink, but they have continued to firm up. I will have to wait for another cycle dip before I am back, enjoy the dividend.

Man_Panda 05 Mar 2019

Happy times I’m just waiting for that dividend, I’ll see how I feel once it’s in my account. I’m not sure I’ll be putting anymore into Rio just yet.

CityFALCON and Genuine Impact Hey Tom, Nice suggestions, I was looking at comparing Barclays and Lloyds so this was a nice tester for me. CityFalcon is a bit more noise reduction but that’s what I have these forums for The other one Genuine Impact is nice for highlighting the stocks to look at. BARC is rank 15 right now! I’m assuming that’s good but I need to dig in some more myself. How has the investing gone now you are doing it yourself? You invested into Rio, BP, Lloyds, Barclays, and Glencore? I hope that’s not all you’ve invested into! Maybe some less risky stuff to help balance the books, at least until Brexit passes?

Happy times Isn’t trading stocks funny sometimes. I have been wrestling with my view of RIO all morning, and can’t decide whether to reinvest ahead of the 319.5p ex-div on 7 Mar. If the new par value according to conservative analyst consensus is £44 then today represents a buying opportunity. On the one hand RIO has attractive long term potential, despite analysts picking on the delay to its new copper mining development, and that divi even more than I was hoping for would be splendid. On the other hand RIO has always been sharply volatile and a flurry of bad news about China / US / EU growth outlook, plunging construction and manufacturing indices, negative exchange rate movements, commodity futures off the boil … blah blah blah … the sp could quite quickly step back down to £40 anyway, and could fall off a cliff at ex-div. £37 again would be a bargain. So I am watching and waiting, and not regretting taking my gain at 4470p. People wiser than me talk about trying to time the market as foolish, but actually to my small brain this stock is a perfect example where timing is everything. I am using IUKD as a cash proxy paying 6+%. If you think UK (dividend) stocks are generally under-appreciated it represents good value under about 840p.

Happy times Followed much the same journey with this over the last few weeks - but then had a mind blip and stupidly rebought the shares I’d sold. Seem to be dropping fast now! Will now hold on for the divi, and then follow the cycle. Will look at IUKD - could be useful.

CityFALCON and Genuine Impact I used to use Moneyfarm and Nutmeg to invest and later decided to do it myself with ii. I’m using Google Finance mainly now as a source to read news and follow my holdings. Lately I came across two apps; one is City FALCON and the other is Genuine Impact. Has anyone used them before or are you using any other apps that are better? Happy to hear your thoughts. My quick 2 cents on both apps after playing around with them for a few days now. City Falcon aggregates news into one place so quite handy, [link] even though it can have random noises sometimes such as all the twitter feeds. Looking at their Seedrs campaign, it aims to become a Google for investments. Good tool to keep track of daily news rather than going to all various sites such as FT, Reuters and Bloomberg. Nicely replaces Google Finance in my experience, or at least have the potential. Genuine Impact claims to be a financial terminal for DIY guys like me, looking at their website here: [link] Their app content is richer and more about research. They score stocks and funds with their own process and they aggregate insights and opinions by asset managers instead of just news. Would not know so many asset managers publish these many articles, and it does a good job simplifying them into jargon light pointers. They also have a nice portfolio analysis function, and Interesting some of my stocks currently rank quite low on their momentum scores so indeed a timely tool to make sure that I am investing into the best possible names such as Lloyds, BP, Glencore, Barclays and Rio. It allows peer score comparison so nice to visualize the difference between Glencore and Rio for instance. It is quite a new app so interesting to see where it’s heading towards. Also, I have tried Finimize as well and find its contents fun to read. More for beginners to investing. Any other better recommendations?
