well am sure your celtic team The popes 11, well am sure as your a celtic supportwe l wonder what gave that away , It will take at least 25p to give the Brothers Grimm their money back and a wee bit profit..Ashley is not afraid to take tough decisions hes the scrooge of the Buisness world..One part of his sports direct empire has went into administration so hes not in anything to lose money, Newcastle do not spent money on big players wages or will he do that with Rangers. It really is not about saving rangers with the current Board its all egostic, me thinks by a week this friday things will be more forthcoming..MR pope am sure if you disapear another one will pope up...anyways , ur views are welcome we all good do with a luff
Re: 20p a share my money on Ashley doing a deal with David King and Douglas park. They get all the hassle of running a club and Ashley gets to make all the money from the retail. Strikes me King and Park just want the prestige of owning the club and Ashley just wants to use the brand to make money. Ashley will be happy for them to play at owning rangers with all the hassle and the fans will happily to start buying from the retail which he will own.
Re: 20p a share He is offering a £20m share placing which if approved unconditionally would result in a mandatory offer for the existing shares at 20p a share. He is still only valuing the business at £20m. He maybe Rangers best option (not being a Rangers man), but, I think he will struggle to get the other main shareholders to agree to the squeeze out.
Re: 20p a share I read the America offer as 20m in new shares then he would buy the rest out at 20p a share. So his cost would be approx. 40m for total control. If that's correct then I think it's a good offer. CCP are currently worth 70m with no none of the other issues.
Re: 20p a share Why not hedge it with a pairs trade - Long Rangers, Short Celtic?Seriously, it is a low ball offer. Everyone knows that you don't 'invest' in football clubs, but, that is not to say you can't make money in certain circumstances. Why would Laxey, Artemis and River and Mercantile be involved at ay point? The reason is, the sum of the parts of the business (Ibrox freehold, Albion carpark ad Murray Park) are worth more than 20million
20p a share second offer in at 20p. current price 27p Not sure I would be investing at 27p. Could be 0p before you know it.
Re: hi Thank you.I wouldn't disagree with anything you said. As someone who is not a Rangers supporter, I would say that you have to have a sustainable business model to work with. Signing veteran players and paying them huge weekly salaries, may, get the team back to the Premiership, but, then what? The hardest thing is going to be rebuilding a scouting network. This will take years in my view. Trying to convince a young player that playing for Rangers is the be all and end all, quite frankly isn't going to work anymore. Why should Charlie Telfer be thrilled with playing reserve team football for a division 1 side, when he can play first team football for Dundee Utd?I really wish the Rangers fans had united and bought the club, but, they are a fragmented bunch. With that beig the case, the supporters can only sit back ad see what happens.
Robert Sarver Well I didn't see that one coming. Trust me to post a sale rec just before a big rise. This guy is a serious punter. He turned round a basketball franchise in Arizona by putting proper people in charge and investing in quality players. Where have you not heard that before. However, once he sees the books and looks at the recent history, will he be scared off? Maybe hold until Feb 2nd when he has to make his move.
Re: hi Good call macbonzo.Just a couple of points.Do not see any tangible benefits for the club.Still a financial basket case. The last interested party from the USA,remember Mr Miller, mentioned a"£20m black hole"before handing back the books.Nobody is about to hand over the required £20m,and say cheerio to it,just to steady the ship, are they? When a fan buys shares in a club the certificate usually gets framed.Their value,up or down,is academic. This club is light years from a stable footing,on and off the field.Even if they get promotion this season,do you really think they will set the heather alight in the Premiership?Bottom line, the highly possible no promotion this year could prove to be a trial that this club and its fans will take many seasons to recover from,if at all.Hence the sell rec.QE.
Re: hi As I said, if you wait for confirmation, you will always miss the boat in investing. The fact that the shares did not fall when the company announced a further fund raising was highly significant. Had you bought then (19p), you would be up 30% by now.Of course according to Michael Stewart and Pat Nevin, that makes me a spiv.
Re: Good day Old Honest Dave,or whatever he is known as in South African courts.Bought shares in the club, big deal. Not an inspiring figure. As for "SPFL chairman states RIFC history is not questionable." Who actually cares, one way or the other? What they can do on the field is where it is at.Sold a talented, young player, which a future team could be grateful for,for 10 years or more.If they had any more, they would just sell them as well.Poor.Desperate.Not building a team for the future. To start building they need a decent new manager.Dont even have the money to hire one!Promotion is now not even certain, which will put a big dent in all areas, finance, team, management and fans moral.QE.
Good day DK back in with almost 15% investment and SPFL chairman states RIFC history is not questionableHopefully 40,000 plus tomorrow
Re: Sell,if Lewis Macleod As a lifetime supporter, I've had enough. Arguably our best player gone for a paltry £1m. No way promotion this year. The club's been torn apart by a succession of useless directors who are more interested in themselves than the tradition and the supporters of a previously wonderful club.
Sell,if Lewis Macleod is leaving this January.............?QE.
maybe all the bad news is already factored into the share price. 1.What is the outlook like for this company in the likely event of,and the odds, for not getting promotion this year? They might not even get past Hibs!!2.Will probably struggle again, even more, next season in the Championship.2a.With either 1 or 2 Premiership clubs dropping down.2b.Or 1 dropping down plus Hibs still in the Championship!!It may be some time before Rangers actually get promotion out of the Championship.QE.
