Re: Freebee winning, the point about this unit is that it was paid for by DECC to go into the community scheme up in Gigha, on an agreed trial basis.as the RNLI will use it on a trial basis now any cost to them will be offset by whatever DECC (now BEIS) have been prepared to contribute.
Freebee Another experimental freebee, or what? (See RNS).ws
Re: Code violation That was my point. When market sensitive information becomes known it must be disclosed. The fact that they apparently held it back in order to soften the blow with the Cornwall announcement appears to have been a breach of process. Arguably (and we do not know the precise timing of the Cornwall decision either) it should have been 2 separate announcements, one bad, one good. Without that, arguably a false market was in operation. If it the Gigha loss was indeed foreseeable at the time of the fundraising that would make the matter worse. It would probably have been identified as one of a spread of material risks in the "prospectus". But had the loss been considered foreseeable or a probability then that would also put a different perspective on that corporate business transaction as well. I put it down to this being AIM and ostensibly unprotected & I get used to it / expect it (sadly)Fwd
Re: Code violation Not shorting, not longing. Just commenting. Been shareholder in the past, have decided this Company is not likely to make profits for a long time tocome, if ever.As for the Gigha installation cancellation, I know the isle of Gigha well, I was told about a year ago that an improved grid connection to the mainlandwould make the planned Redt storage fascility unnecessary. Shareholdershere should have been informed about the cancellation, IMO.
Re: Code violation Can We take it you are shorting this share? Just so we can assess the comments.
Re: Code violation Sage - The cancellation of the Gigha project must have been known to RED's management before the fundraising in December. Gigha is owned by the Community living on theisland, there is a community appointed Committee in charge of the Island - the date of cancellation of the RED project will be known to that Committee.ws
Predictable Losses announced today (see Results RNS) are wholly in line withmanagement's ability to make losses. As I have said in the past, thisCompany excels at making losses, I know of no other Company that consistently betters that. Sorry to be so negative.ws
Re: Code violation Seems to me that RedT had the rug pulled from under them at Gigha, not their fault. They have done well to find another home for the batteries, and hopefully this time they will be able to complete the project. And I notice that Community Energy Scotland have gone quiet about the Gigha windmill and battery project. Not a word for a very long time, yet they were shouting loud about it initially. Perhaps they want to keep a low profile now?
Code violation This is most definitely a case of information about the Gigha project fed to investors on the basis of a definite undertaking to test and prove the Red t systems technical and commercial viability. That they did NOT go through with that project, and DID NOT tell us is disgusting.I personally will be contacting the FCA etc even if no one else is bothered. ......" The energy storage machines that will be installed were originally manufactured for an installation on the Isle of Gigha, as part of a joint project undertaken by DECC (now BEIS), redT and The Gigha Community to remove constraints placed on the island's community wind farm. Since the project was initially conceived, the constraint placed on the Isle of Gigha windfarm has now been removed, which was the primary reason for installing the systems. This happened due to a material upgrade of the grid connection to the mainland which was completed well ahead of expectations. "SAGE

Re: Profit.... I doubt if there will be meaningful incentives. These are only available for insanely expensive and stupid nuclear power stations using foreign technology which is known not to work.Seriously, Dong (really) a Scandinavian group, have just announced a massive subsidy-free windfarm in Germany (FT). Although there are special circumstances enabling that project, that is the way forward. This stuff has to justify itself, and why not? I was going to sell but have decided to hold on to my small stake -- this Gigha thing is an annoyance, but it doesn't seem to me to reflect particularly on RedT. Possibly the way they handled the news flow, but even that was making the best of it.
Naughty They must have known about Gigha a while back (& the sh price was falling too) yet did not release price sensitive info until they could offset the bad news with the good news (Cornwall)
Re: Profit.... Latest news from Cornwall just really confirms what we all knew already - commercial sales in UK won't happen until the Govt comes up with its new smart grid and storage proposals.Let's hope that the Govt's bureaucrats come up with meaningful incentives - the General Election in June gives added weight to the view that the package of proposals might be a real game-changer.GLA.
Re: Profit.... Profit-not wth REDT -you will be in your box before that happens. Must be loosing a bomb every month and look at the market cap. In my view this is woefully overvalued
Profit.... Once more an unprofitable exercise. Where is there a sign of profit to come? ws
