O/T - LK Hyman - Alive and Well @mememe - It’s purely as a Discussion forum for me… window up on ii all the time but use other Brokers for trading/checking things out… never used ii for VP or for doing Research so I’m gloriously unaffected.

O/T - LK Hyman - Alive and Well @J_Westlock, blame ii. There is a problem on the site hopefully you’re not experiencing it. are you sticking with ii - other than maintaining portfolios of very little use to me now.

J_Westlock 11 Jul 2018

O/T - LK Hyman - Alive and Well @mememe - You’ve lost your portfolios again? You’re getting careless.

mememe 11 Jul 2018

O/T - LK Hyman - Alive and Well @J_Westlock, many thanks. I looked at those but couldn’t find any recent posts so thought I was on the wrong thread. Now all my portfolios have disappeared same thing happened yesterday evening .

O/T - LK Hyman - Alive and Well @mememe - On a very quick look… I suspect it’s the “O/T LKH” thread as in the image below that @TwoSporrans is referring to… search as I did and then click on the thread. PS. A shame but LK was either banned from ii (or went off in a huff after receiving a warning) about posts he made (and that were removed) some months back.

O/T - LK Hyman - Alive and Well @J_Westlock, that didn’t work found many LK Hyman threads but how do I look for the particular one that @TwoSporrans is referring to.

J_Westlock 11 Jul 2018

O/T - LK Hyman - Alive and Well @mememe - If you search for …. LK Hyman … you’ll find it along with many others regarding the grammar Nazi.

mememe 11 Jul 2018

O/T - LK Hyman - Alive and Well @TwoSporrans, just out of interest how do I get back to the previous “O/T LKH” thread. I’ve tried to search (magnifying glass next to Main Site Search) with no success.

Search for the Super battery Also another thing that made me laugh, Branson was on about his space travel for multi millionaires and billionaires in one breath then in the next he was saying how the UK should ban ice cars sooner than the official year because of the environment, mmmm So its OK for millionaires and billionaires to use the equivalent of hundreds or thousands of car emissions in one jolly flight yet Mrs Smith who goes the shop once a week in a 1ltr Nissan should be banned.

Search for the Super battery Yes some of the current waffle about electric cars is a bit laughable, the generation is far from clean or efficient. And have you seen that program where they showed Drax I think and it now uses wood pellets shipped from all around the world and they say this produces no carbon emissions. So they don’t book any emissions because it came from trees and they take in co2 when they grow. What an absolute hiss take. So we should have developed steam cars trucks and trains that take wood pellets then and everything would be fine, lol Do you know that most electricity generation struggles to get past 60% emissions. So when they talk about a electric heater being 100% efficient they only talk about from the plug socket, as the juice they use is on 60% or less. That is why it costs 12-13p kwh instead of 3pkwh for gas. My clothes dryer is gas and it costs 60% less to dry clothes. And it works amazingly well. Much better than an electric element equivalent.

Search for the Super battery In fact there were electric trolley busses in use in south London until the late fifties at least. I there were 2 on the same hill the voltage drop due to the high current draw would almost bring them to a halt.

Latest Shell Deepwater Oil Field has Breakeven under $30/barrel News released at end of May, well worth noting: "THE HAGUE – Shell Offshore, Inc. (Shell), a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell plc, has announced the early start of production – about one year ahead of schedule – at the first phase of Kaikias, an economically resilient, subsea development in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, with estimated peak production of 40,000 boed. Shell has reduced costs by around 30% at this deepwater project since taking the investment decision in early 2017, lowering the forward-looking, break-even price to less than $30/bbl of oil. “We believe Kaikias is the most competitive subsea development in the Gulf of Mexico and a prime example of the deepwater opportunities we’re able to advance with our technical expertise and capital discipline,” said Andy Brown, upstream director at Royal Dutch Shell. “In addition to accelerating production for Kaikias, we reduced costs with a simplified well design and the incorporation of existing subsea and processing equipment.” Kaikias is located in the prolific Mars-Ursa basin around 130 mi (210 km) from the Louisiana coast and is owned by Shell (80% working interest), as operator, and MOEX North America LLC (20% working interest), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd." Also, another deepwater field - Vito - son to start producing with b/e of sub $35/b. Excerpt from a Zachs report I’ve been reading: " In keeping with the lessons learnt in the low oil price environment, Shell declared a final investment decision for the deepwater project Vito in April, which showed breakeven at a price level less than $35 per barrel. In 2015, the Hague-based energy company started redesigning the project, which slashed costs by more than 70% from its original strategy. Moreover, in June, Shell brought Kaikias deepwater development online in the GoM, which has a breakeven price level less than $30 a barrel. The company currently sports a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). " Though Shell is already more a Gas producer than Oil and heading progressively this way, it’s great to know it’s now producing oil so cheaply from it’s latest fields

Search for the Super battery Omaha_man: How many thousands of lives would that have saved? You’d have to offset whatever that figure is by the delta of the increased deaths caused by the coal industry that would have generated the electricity.

DRIP @Kool_Keith Kool_Keith: As LK once said ‘never sell shell’ I’m sure that’s a quote he picked up elsewhere but still rings in my head as I bought a few years ago when people where selling. Never sell Shell? Mmm… well if you had sold in mid-2014 and bought again at beginning of 2016 then that would have been best.

BP to acqire Chargemaster Thank you @Saint_Michael, I had not tried that since I now add hyperlinks using the dedicated “Add Hyperlink” function, since I had so many cases where when I tried to post directly the system then tried to open the hyperlink and got locked up. I think now that this “problem” must be related to something within the address being copied, so is random. Maybe in future I will try to copy the hyperlink directly in the text first and resort to the “Add Hyperlink” function when I get a problem. You might notice that I have now updated my post from this morning.
