Re: Volkswagen Thanks for this. I just wonder why it hasn't lifted the share price.
Re: Volkswagen In answer to your question, B&H, they should be a beneficiary if outside testing is to be adopted and they're not a VW emissions testing supplier - YET!Good article on the prospects here for RCDO in todays issue of Shares Mag (two page spread) where they reckon that Ricardo should be a beneficiary from the scandal, in the EU, US and China, too, with a bit of luck....Worth gettiing a copy (pages 36 & 37) or reading the article online if you can. I've had this on my watch list for a while but, given the possibilities seemingly afforded now, I've got on with buying some shs today just in case it really moves.....sasa.
Re: Volkswagen My concern is that they might be part of the problem, if this scandal spreads as wide as feared.MM.
Volkswagen Does anyone know whether Ricardo's services are likely to be called upon in connection with the VW scandal?
NEW ARTICLE: Ricardo: Good for another 100 years "One hundred years after Ricardo was founded, its business is as relevant as ever.A hundred years ago Sir Harry Ricardo set up Engine Patents Ltd to help design a device to manoeuvre tanks onto railway wagons. Then Engine Patents developed ..."[link]
Acquisition today Ricardo has announced the purchase of Cascade Consultants, an environmental consultancy business specialising in the water sector. Clearly not a huge deal--turnover only £3m---but are we not entitled to be told how much they paid and how the deal was funded?
Re: What a good performer. RCDO was the only share in my portfolio that was up in early trading today. At 8:35 +6.5p. At yesterdays close I was up 30.2% since purchase 4 months ago. AER 125%.I was wondering if RCDO the new hybrid train I was reading about to reduce noise, improve performance and reduce running costs of trains not on electrified routes. Diesel electric with batteries.Do any RCDO share holders out there have views they would care to share on this company? Wondering how much upside is left. Over the last 6 months SP trend is a very impressive 97% pa and as yet showing no signs of levelling off. Fundamentally still looks sound. Consensus of 3 brokers is still 'Buy'. EPS growth of 14.1%. PE a bit high at 22.8 as is PEG of 2.55. Dividend modest at 1.77% but well covered and consistent growth. Not looking too cheap hence weak buy IMO.
What a good performer. Since I bought 3.4 months ago SP up 26.8% (AER of 134%) and a new all time closing high today. This is currently my best performing share for consistency. I notice this stellar performance started this year. During 2014 SP moved sideways but did well in 2013. Not sure how long current rate of rise in SP can last. Probably not all year as SP would then end year above £16. I have a 7.5% stop loss on peak price, 773 .8p now, so most of my paper profits might be preserved (of course as bad news is usually released when market closed may well not be able to get out at 773).If anyone interested I bought because of a golden cross (rising short term moving average cutting up through rising longer term moving average). Then some research and fundamental analysis picked RCDO out of about 10 companies with recent golden cross events. This time it worked.
Ricardo to appoint executive.... Ricardo to appoint executive to drive business growth in California.[link] guess this is why SP rose 4.79% today.
