Sobeit - Annual report showed the top 14 or 15 investors only hold 56% of the company. I doubt there are another 20 odd holding just below the 3% threshold. As previously stated, this share appears to be significantly more liquid that TOR statement would imply.
seems to me if that other company withdrew to go an buy something bigger (then money wasn't an issue) it had more to do with the risk reward profile. economies of scale. that barryroe simply isn't big enough in todays oil environment. and that can't be fixed. however if druid came online then barryroe would be a nice cherry on top. but can't stand on its own.
Thing is it has never really been dealt with openly by the company either. If they came out and said "yes, there is something wrong with barryroe" i think there would be a sense of relief. and confidence would be restored. ie there is a problem lets fix it. but TOR keeps maintaining there is nothing wrong. so for me at least there is a whiff of something amiss. a world class resource and no one wants it? sounds a bit implausible. and sure there could be many valid reasons. maybe TOR just can't cut a deal. but he cut a deal quick enough with Cairn over Druid. Sure maybe it is the oil price. But again Cairn bought into Druid in a heart beat. so things just don't add up. unless there is a curse on barryroe? The Curse of Barryroe... does it exist maybe?? Or the stuff of fiction. All very iffy in my opinion.
and that sums up a very complex story in a nutshell. FairPlay
I think he only has to buy half them before August but not sure
The Drummer of Barryroe has gone quiet with agressive rebuttals across boards. Management need to live up with actions soon.
doesn't he have to buy them before august of this year?
With a sale, the attractiveness of salary would be significantly diluted by options coming into play
I dont beleive Jimmy but dont want to get carried away with management spin. When will they monitise and end the agony. If they are keen in buying shares would have done at 12p but not with options at 45c; they will buy options only if Druid is hit. I would say its wait n watch.
I would say there is nothing wrong with Barryroe, based on the fact that a couple of companies were very close to putting money on the table to invest. That is as clear as you can get to showing that it is a good field.
many thanks Spuddy.
Morning Haribo; Apparently they opted for a larger project or a larger collection of Assets. However now the Majors are examining Celtic Sea and Pvr may look to extend licence área given interest and increase in Barryroe Size estimate. Would not be surprised to See Providence take over Landsdowne and old Fastnet (deep Kinsale, mizen etc) if Druid or Drombeg come up trumps
Was there any hint as to why the party to the deal backed away?
Jimmy at it again: So here we Have Jimmy with no shares using his valuable time to Run down Providence again. Did not take him long to start Bad mouthhing again. Jimmy should Have attended PVR's AGM and presented his views which are based on absolutely nothing but suposition which he himself has just stated in his predictably negative comment. Pat Plunkett says Barryroe is bigger than initially thought and also concurs with Board view that Super Majors are looking at Celtic Sea and Barryroe again. The PVR Board say there is no Issue with compartmentalization. I Believe the Board as do all the Top institutional investors. Jimmy has never explained his interest in PVR. He has Told Us he has no shares. So why does he Have this Providence fetish. Maybe he Will enlighten us as to What is the reason for his ongoing obsessive bad mouthing of PVR
