Silver lining? I can't help but feel that if the US pulls down the deal with the Iranians it will be good for PVR (it's an exceedingly small silver lining to a huge cloud). I expect that the Chinese partners are much more likely to approve the deal in a reasonable time-frame in a context where global supplies may face significant disruption within 12-18 months.
Re: Todays news Jimmy, Seismics can help with those questions but only drilling successfully matters to the markets. Meanwhile Sigma have purchased 27m LOGP shares.....
Re: Todays news More seismic and data being collected. What data? Will the seismic show top seal integrity. Will seabed cores show traces of gas . If there is a giant gas field a few hundred meters below seabed, hard to thinks some gas would not seep to the surface. Jimmy

Re: Jimmy - PVR Slides Jimmy, Top seal is an issue Providence certainly are familiar with after Dunquin North, Drombeg and Druid.
Re: Jimmy - PVR Slides The issue with dunnquinn is does the top seal hold or fail.Good article in current issue of GEO ExPro magazine on controlled source electromagnetism which distinguish fresh oil from residual oil, very successful in the Barneys sea. Would it work in dunnquinn south, if positive would certainly lead to a quick farmout and there is good well control nearby.Jimmy
Re: Jimmy - PVR Slides Dont think it is appropriate to speculate on Dunquin South at this stage. All we know is that they now have new 3D over it and so perhaps well find out more when they publish their year end results in the next few weeks
Re: Jimmy - PVR Slides Had a quick look at the presentation slides. Not sure if the residual oil column in dunnquinn north is recoverable or indeed the quantity. Suspect its non commercial in these water depths as a stand alone project.Dunnquinn north failed because of top seal failure as evidenced on seismic and was obvious to all since pvr had the gas chimney seismic on its annual report many years ago.The question is dunnquinn south top seal intact to stop oil escape. While the seismic cross section does not show the same extent of gas chimney, I am still worried by the risk of top seal failure.to the left of the dunnquinn south prospect the top seal seems to have broken . Obviously do not have the data. If its intact, then pvr should be able to farm out if not , do not spend company cashjimmy
Jimmy - PVR Slides Hi Jimmy, Any views on the slides JoS is presenting today?THanks Mamms
Re: AAPG Conference in Lisbon Ano, Good to see Dunquin being touted. APEC must be eyeing up a stake buying opportunity at Dunquin and Newgrange.
AAPG Conference in Lisbon I see that there is a big AAPG conference in Lisbon this week. PVR seems to be the conference kick-off speaker talking about Dunquin - and there are 3 other papers also on Dunquin by Eni and Repsol. See [link] serious must be afoot at Dunquin with all these papers?
Re: Long term Jimmy, Dont know the answer to your question but Newgrange is very shallow and comparatively cheap to drill. Good to see 3D seismics are being acquired as feared drilling it blind....
Re: Long term NdIn the deep water of the porcupine, cold water coral reefs grow, fed by methane seeps. Are there any above newgrange. .J
Re: Long term Jimmy, Wont be relying on those Sclum dudes at Newgrange. This Summer's seismics will derisk it bigtime hopefully....
