I asked someone who has done a lot of acquisitions when would an acquiring company set up a subsidiary in a foreign country. His answe as follow "It depends if you are buying the company's stock then you don't need to do anything. If you are buying assets you would set up a company (a subsidiary of the parent) to put the assets into so that when the deal closes you have a local entity to hold the assets. Usually you file a few weeks before you intend to close"

The reason there is no up in the share price is because nothing has been announced yet........all we have at the minute is speculation

Godot, deal might not be inked, but it looks as if we're at the legals stage. Does anyone know i) How long legals could take? ii) At what stage in the legals process would you set up your company with CRO?

Don't think deal is done, but I think that at least we have confirmed that there are real bidders negotiating with PVR. This was something people were doubting on this board two weeks ago. In fact I think some were looking for PVR board to be investigated for fraud!!

I think more and more this is looking like america vs russia and russia are taking a kicking. But for all that I think Providence's position in safe old Ireland is worth something. That and the project still been profitable at 40 dollars.

Providence need to hold their nerve stop spending money and hold off until 2016 for a good deal if needed. With Oil prices on the ground Oil supply will dry up as projects mothballed and current production shale, canadian tar, deep sea etc become unprofitable
