defends revenue recognition policy!! i find it most interesting what they DONT say....nothing about huge growth in the US, and noting about costs.it is dangerous territory if they have to defend their accounting policy post carillioneven the fact they need to put out an announcement just because the price fell 10% shows they worried... interesting day ahead!ALL IMHO, DYOR + BoLPURP is in my portfolio (short)
Shorters retreating? Short tracker suggests some institutes are reducing their short positions...[link]
Shorters Well the new year is herr and i am sure once the quarter had finished with the nargin calls you are hurting as woodford has orobaly taken sone profit. I like this share as it continurmes to rally abmnd every tine it does it blows out the amateurs! Buy on fear and sell on good news-who said that!!
merry chrtmas To all creatures great and small!
Re: Be careful Merry Christmas,<might be a Christmas shark>Regards,Seadoc
Be careful Folks these boards are full of sharks trying to make spread betting and cfd's look exciting! They always tick each other up as well!!Do not be sucked in!!!
Re: any firms open for a short? 305020,I am very new to this but do see my post of 14th. I guess the MMs have a small window, if a share is soaring or falling and they have taken plenty of bets in one direction they can, even online, take counterbets. But, in my experience, if they reach the end of the window the bet needs to be laid off by borrowing shares. The computer says phone the broker. I did and had no problem getting 5pp for PURP at same rate as advertised on line. I have also been told to phone back at 10am (not PURP) and the dealers would do a phone around to try to find a lender.I think the clue is in the word "bet"Regards,Seadoc
any firms open for a short? I use IG index but they have closed down short trading for PURP for about 3 weeks now. this happened before but resumed after a few days.anybody any views on why this is ?and what it means?I cant understand how a 1bn company is not able to short on the UK's biggest Spread Bet compa
Re: Who let the dogs out? Amazing how you can always find something on the web to support your argument...Typing "Purplebricks review" into Google brings up multiple review websites of which most are showing 4+ stars on initial glance. The allagents one showing 5th from the top, stands out like a sore thumb! For those who have paid £1k and failed to sell must be very frustrated, and what better place to vent than the interwebs. The review saga continues...and PB continue to deliver growth. So either people are ignoring the "bad" reviews, or they are happy to take a punt on selling their home for a fraction of the cost.
Who let the dogs out? [link] am short PURP at 6p a point.Regards,Seadoc
On the up Good luck with your shorts, but look around their boards are everywhere! Quite rightly they know they have to keep investing until they become established. Basics they are a legitimate on line estate agent and people want to use them. The market will split and theu will get the low price high volume end and will take out all the bottom feeder agents in due course...
PURP productivity - 2 hours per customer just had a thought whilst listening to some podcasts...PURP has c.800 local property experts.lets say current market value is c.£1bnso each LPE is being valued at generating £1,250,000 of value EACH!!!each LPE handles c.1,000 instructions per year(UK 1,000 * 650 (pro-rata for 6 months) = t/o of £40m in UKignoring holidays that is c.20 a weekso each customer gets say 2hours of time from the LPE!! and that is assuming the LPE spends no time on pesonal admin, team issues, central training etc....so the PRUP response is to develop a central call (concierge) team...again, fully understand that PURP finding their way....it is just that at this stage its not worht £1bn in my eyes, and of coruse to buy today one must be assuming it is good value and thus worth 1.5bnmy estiamte is worth closer c.500m which is still a huge success for 4 year old business!! 205030
Re: US investor mentality vs. UK hi DT2 that's a welcome post as it clearly lays out the reason you are a holder.i actually dont disagree with your arguments - they make sense.i do disagree taht PURP has the quality of mgt team to deliver this change, and i do think that their proposition cannot be copied,so ironically if there are to become the 'go to' agent for house transactions then yes they should do more not less.BUT.. the tipping point reason that i decided to short was becuase they are currently valued at about 4 times the valuation Amazon had after 10 years of trade. So the current market valuation implies that PURP has more than 4 times the potential of Amazon.Whatever the future for PURP, whatever their success achieved to date or in the future, that one fact is enough to convince me that very probably the market has valued the potential risk / reward ratio for PURP too highly.2 views make a market. I dont expect to be always right, jsut to get the risk / reward often more time than not. I guess time will tell in 12 months.205030
Re: good spot seadoc from the presentation that was well picked up.i see that the ic tipped them this week whcih might explain the price rise yesterday.i'm delighted with that... my view of the ic analysis is that it is simplistic in its analysis - so i am happy to have an alternative view and happy that able to add to short. All IMHO, DYOR + BoLPURP is in my top5 hldgs (short)
