Re: You and Yours & Watchdog Timely top last Monday ... maybe I'm better when very busy lol
FIH Apologies for the Typo-dilutions I meant to say. Also se below.[link] happened here was all of a sudden FIH stopped paying dividends saying they wanted to build up cash for projects. this caused the SP to drop significantly and hey presto th board about a year later said they had been talking to another party about a takeover and were recommending acceptance. They set a shareholder threshold for approval and when the share holders (many of them private) showed their anger and potential muscle, they the dropped the threshold to 50% but luckily still failed.Arguably, the real deal was FIH own much of the land on the Falklands and knowing there will be oil coming ashore, they knew by taking it into private ownership they could offload all those shareholders and dividends. How the financial authorities did not get involved still bewilders me, but if you had read the times yesterday, hat spooked the market was the 25m being set aside for the directors in the deal, that could have been used to drive growth. Albeit they have to wait for a year it did not go down well.[link] it is not simply a placing of new shares it is also directors selling their own holdings. Some £25m worth'However, what has really buoyed me, is ive sen no sell down RNS which you would see if anyone had sold 3% or more of their shares, so not sure why the price tanks except the extra shares and directors taking of the table. However, I am still quite happy to buy in at the current price, because in general their marketing is working they look successful in the US and I actually think they will get smarter on their offer!GLA
Re: Strato/Strathosphere. Simple, creating more shares dilurikns to raise cash), excessive awards/ salaries, under reporting, talking the stock down. You should study FIH who stopped paying dividends and then tried to sell the company to an ex tory chairman / private equity before they got rumbled. Read alao about lifestyle companies who have no intention of letting their company if held by a lot of retail investors to profit! Aim rules.are very different from the ftse!
Strato/Strathosphere. The board will try to avoid passing on the rise in shareprice to the shareholders! And why or how might that be achieved please?
Re: Short The short got called back in at close last night. Seadoc
In auction So it went into auction at the start and we have a lot of extra shares issues at 360p. No I cannot imaging someone is going to lay out over 100m GBP unless they are going to see . THis company is the scourge of the traditional estate agent and its another cottage industry which has to go.Purplebricks will split the market with Savilles and the like untouched, but the lower end agents will get taken out. They are becoming increasingly established in the market despite the dirty deeds of the estate agents thus far.My only worry is the Board ill try and avoid passing on the rise in share price to investors and reward themselves with more options to dilute it.he big question is, are they a lifestyle company or really want to change the face of people selling their houses for a reasonable price!
Re: You and Yours & Watchdog Topped up @ 277p ... good job i didnt do that last week .Patience.
Re: Short I am not long either. It's generally not good sign for a company if you cannot open a short position. It means the spread bet market thinks it will fall. I held these and did well but thought it was heading for trouble. Early days but that seems to have been a good move.I will look to get back in at an appropriate time.Regards
OPPORTUNITY? I do not think we will see sub 300p again. Back in at 276p. Good luck all holders.
RNS That went down well - not.URP/news/item/2726829/125m-strategic-investment-trading-board-update?context=LSEURPBuyers" target="blank" rel="nofollow">[link] at 360p, but the board were selling?Regards,Seadoc
Re: Short admiraly.. if your not short why do you also type not a good sign ?
Re: Short Managed to open a position on Spreadex. Seadoc
Short You cannot open a sell position on IG at the moment. That's not a good sign. Also, on the Buffett idea of buying on fear, he would never buy a company like PB. It is far too easily replicated and has no 'moat' to protect earnings (such as they are). Not short here but still negative as per my post a few months ago.
Re: You and Yours & Watchdog With hinsight penhome was correct .Now 300p .. winny lapping it up even posting charts lolHe blogs Wooford " the most conceited fund manager ... keep selling "Tempted to top up .
