Re: Fire at new Swansea plant I thought that this would have been hit harder and confess that I have sold out having looked at the photos.Thankfully it is just premises and business that has been affected, with no human casualties.Time will tell but it seems to me that the RNS at this stage might underplay the damage, and therefore the likely future disruption. But you can understand that all the company can reasonably say at this stage is that they will make further assessment."but it is anticipated that production at the site will be affected" - seems rather an understatement!Yes it is insured, but this was a state of the art plant and the larger part of their operations. But this was no small fire - it started with an explosion and burned for hours- not what you would want in a super clean high tech factory.Notice they have not said either way in what part of the factory the damage has occurred.I fear a more serious damage / business disruption statement when more is known, tempered by more on the insurance situation. But my fear is that the company may take a couple of years to get over this - hence my shares sale (at breakeven).

FIRE AT SWANSEA FACTORY Sad to see on BBC News site and the "red button" pages that there has been a large fire at the PUR Swansea site today. With up to 70 fire fighters attending and suggestions that a storage tank exploded damage is bound to be severe. I hate to think what the share price will be on Monday.Commiserations to PUR. I'm sure that all here wish them a swift recovery and we hope that there are no personal injuries.E

Fire at new Swansea plant Looks serious. Insured no doubt, but likely to be highly disruptive. The Pure Wafer website says that the company "operates from a state-of-the-art, purpose built 4,500msq facility in South Wales and a purpose built 3,400msq facility in Prescott, Arizona". [link] [link]
