Re: Trade volumes Prudential own M&G so the 2 separate RNSs are basically the same transaction. I guess when there is a huge transaction, if it's just 2 institutions getting together and agreeing a sale/buy and price, it won't affect the share price too much. I'd like to know a bit more about this Norwegian mob though - are they just fund managers?
Trade volumes Interesting that both Prudential and M and G sold 20% of their holdings, whilst Vind LV AS bought over a million shares and now have a 3%+ holding. Perhaps more interesting is the fact that these substantial transactions did not move the share price which has held up well during recent turbulence.
Re: Huge Volume today It would appear to be M&G selling some of their shares and Lind buying them. I have never heard of Lind and all a www search informed me was that they are Norwegian. (There's plenty of links - but all in Norwegian.)
Huge Volume today One trade of 923k (over 2% of the shares) at 342 - presumably a buy. What's going on?
NEW ARTICLE: Is this 'heroic' share a 'buy'? "My train departs Cambridge early on a Spring morning and arrives in King's Lynn in winter. The weather is grizzly and it feels like I've walked on to the set of a period TV drama shot in black and white.LSERVorvair's headquarters is a small ..."[link]
£3 Certainly been range bound over the last few months.Come on, now you've finished above £3, let's see it establish itself above that level.

Re: Finals It is! The final dividend is 2.2 pence per share. Just shows you how one decimal point can make all the difference!
Re: Finals Thought the 22p div as reported by stockmarketwire was too good to be true!
Finals You have summed it up well Hardboy. Should keep the Smaller Coc. Investment funds happy as well.
Finals A good set of results today. No surprises as the trading statement had prepared the way. It's not a big dividend, but a 10% hike is welcome; and despite a couple of acquisitions the net cash pile is growing very nicely. No hint of buy backs or special dividend, so I imagine there will be more investment in growth to come. PE down to 18.5 which is the lowest it has been for years. That's not cheap, but with a healthy record of growth and beating expectations, I think it's a good place for one's money.
Re: Trading Statement And on the subject of China & filtration - a serious bit of smog in the capital does wonders to focus the mind on anything to clean the atmosphere!
Re: Trading Statement DM, excellent post."Over the last year they have underperformed the FTSE250.... this share has gone from being my star performer of a few years ago to holding back my overall returns"The rise of Porvair has been impressive, and the share price got ahead of the company's performance. If there was a simple formula for the real value of a business then we would see a fairly impressive graph of Porvair's growth in value, but plotted against share price, we'd see share price getting way ahead then stagnating while the value caught up. That's what's been happening of late; and of course what one has to consider when deciding whether to buy hold or sell a share is the future, not the past. The underlying value of the value of the business is still growing and still has tremendous scope to grow further. I don't mind a relatively low dividend (though I am pleased with it's continued growth, which has tended to be around 10% p.a., and is now paying me a very healthy yield on my initial investment) as they have been getting rid of their debt, and investing in growth.China's economy is slowing (If we believe all the figures we get from there) but still growth is healthy in comparison with Europe; and it is still a huge economy with a lot of growth in power generation and aviation; both sectors which Porvair can exploit. But again there is a disconnect between business performance and the emotion of markets. Anything China related is out of favour, so as you say, Porvair's investment there, may be a drag on share price.
Re: Trading Statement Maybe the problem is that it's always the same " exceed market expectations ". But not my much the cynics might say! I guess that their investment in China must now be a drag on the share price and the market was probably hoping for some new " big contracts" to replace the ones that are now drawing to a conclusion.Over the last year they have underperformed the FTSE250 - but only slightly. We could do with a big increase in dividend to keep investors interested !I must admit that this share has gone from being my star performer of a few years ago to holding back my overall returns in 2015. So I will wait for the finals, and dividend news and any news on new contracts and order book and then think whether I've got too much invested in this one.PS overall 2015 portfolio return saved by RPC !Good luck all.
Trading Statement As usual a good update, with the full year out turn being better than previously expected, which is what they seem to say every update. Underlying sales up 8%, healthy order book, net cash account growing. I'm a bit disappointed not to see a better reception from the market.
