Re: Looking cheap! I have to agree with you.If I had £500K to play with thenI could be making loads of money by trading plnd at the moment but, in the absence of any staggering news, this is going nowhere and as I don't have £1/2 million "to play with" I may have to just sit tight and enjoy my dividends.
Re: Becoming affordable? They certainly don't own all of their premises and, in fact, I would doubt if they own many of them.I would hazard a guess that many are on fairly short-term leases but that is just a guess.

Re: Becoming affordable? do they own the real estate their stores are located in?
Becoming affordable? I reckon at this rate Poundland will soon start to look cheap enough to attract interest from other retailers, particularly those looking for a quick way of getting into the ever popular discounters section of the market which seems to be flourishing.Am I right in thinking that there were rumours a while ago about Pepkor who are supposed to be opening up a number of extra stores in the UK this year.Something needs to happen to stop the slide in the share price and I don't see that sales and profit are going to be the main factors.

Re: Aquisition ".shudd be 240 soon tho.<<<BANG ON!!"Lambers -- what are your little robot machine chart predictions looking like now?I guess the 240 (19Nov) was not quite so bang on in the face of the current 166 share price, which I suspect nobody on here forecast to be fair.Do you have another bang on suggestion -- does the machine see the emotive price of a £1 or is that simply "bang off" the mark?Games - not an investor, but curious as to the next step for Poundland.
Re: NO nothing is wrong at Poundland "I repeat zero debt."darkk -- on the surface this looks very commendable, however, that doesn't suggest that Poundland represents a low risk. Why, because it was cash flow negative in 2014 (i.e. to March 2015), these were the numbers :-Net Cash from Operating Activities --- £42.8M --- and this was down from £48M (March2014)Cash from Investing Activities (£19.82M)Cash from Finance Activities (£32.38M)Net Cash (£9.34M) --- so it was burning £9.3M in cash to grow it's operations up to that point.Haven't checked all the details (and someone might correct me here) but the high bill for finance activities is mainly the many operating leases it carries. Now all this was before the successful takeover of the 99p stores happened. Now if the current stores (pre 99p days) were stretching the cash position, if they see a similar trading pattern, then it's possible that the net negative cash position can grow much more, being amplified by the many more stores acquired. This could be a classic case of overextending in the face of a very competitive high street for low cost goods.Remember you also have Savers, B&M's Home Bargains, and the plethora of other poundy type look alikes on the high street and beyond.Poundland might turn out to be a good investment from here, but there are still risks and there may be more profit warnings on the way?The other thing that is a little concerning, and I've elluded to it before unchallenged, is what happens if interest rates rise more rapidly in the US and over here and we start to see real inflation? And what happens if VAT rises? How does Pundland cope with these two potential but enormously significant changes? You can't keep shrinking the package size, or there'll be nowt in the package worth buying!!!Games
Further growth to come + Dividend of 3%+
NO nothing is wrong at Poundland Fall way overdone.Profitable, expanding, no debt.I repeat zero debt.Every store always seems packed.Ridiculous SP
Re: Something's Rotten In Poundland - Articl... Miserable figures but in today's FT Jonathan Pritchard of Peel Hunt is quoted as saying current pe is now below 10, which is very different from seeking alpha article, so does share price already take account?
Re: Something's Rotten In Poundland - Articl... Is the forward pe correct at 20.7, or is the article based on a higher share price?
