Re: Topped up My first purchase of these today at just over 107. 108 had been my target price for quite a while so I feel quite chuffed to get in at a smidgen under. I think there's a possibility of this dropping to just under £1 but as it's fallen so far already and hit my target I've jumped in. My only real concern about the fundamentals is the P/B but the other numbers look generally OK. Even allowing for the final divi to be cut by the same amount as the interim that still offers a yield of almost 5.8% at 107.x.
Re: Topped up "perhaps U can offer something that will gain considerably over next month??" I'm no chartist as you know, but I suspect PZ Cussons is getting close to a reasonable low. I wouldn't bet the house on it because it's exposed to Nigeeerrria, but they have been pumping out the stuff for over a 100 years and I think with some of the new products like St Tropez, which is taking the market by storm, there could be a good rebound of 10-15-20% depending what happens to Janet Yellen's job.Take a look at the charts and tell me if I'm crazy.Games -- again it'll be 5 years
Re: Topped up "something that will gain considerably over next month??"LG - I think you are absolutely right on the money and as long as the market stays as depressed as it does for the rest of this year it could do less than even. However, I'll be holding this for 5 years.Games -- So I've just turned off the ticker on my Interactive Brokers screen and will do research on something else now!
Re: Topped up Omie..I think a gain of 30%+ in a few weeks..warranted the 'Strong Buy'.tag last time....this time however ..as suggested not expecting dramtic rise/ responsive..perhaps U can offer something that will gain considerably over next month??
Re: Topped up Yes, well just added @110p and treat as a recovery play.As someone said, maybe activist investor may help move things along as well. Gulp...
Re: Topped up Not such a 'strong buy at 150' as you thought
Re: Results out Harriet green is now at IBM, she lead the premier Farnell business for about 4 years before turning around Thomas cook, I do agree with you - she would have been great coming back to turn things around.....but that's not a option at the moment - shame.
Re: Topped up weak buy... pivot.110..bear in mind volatile for 6 months(sideways) trade ONLY..
Re: Look back at the share price thats absolutely right Killi, what a shockin' indictment on a company , board, and string of CEO's.SAGE
Look back at the share price The shares have never been this price for over 25 years! And more.
Re: Topped up We shouldn't forget the activist investor. They could easily bring in all their mates to apply pressure. Either way the share price should recover somewhat in the end.....
Re: Topped up Grey -- Good move.As a profitable (albeit less so of late) company there is no real reason why a CEO can not be attracted to this company, and someone with a brain that understands distribution, is well connected with the principles supplying to Farnell and has a handle on, or has in his pocket someone who knows how to do effective marketing.Personally I hope they don't bring in a guy to offload the company.Games
Topped up After thinking about it all day, I have also topped up with 25% more stock.I don't believe in chasing losers, I just think that this is now undervalued. I think that the new team has got off to a poor start, and the chairwoman should go. Why?With a partial sale coming on (and it should be at a decent price), there is enough capital. The divi cut is silly, they should have held it while they sort things out.I don't want to see a load of tosh about rationalisation provisions. It would be better to sell the whole group, then there won't be CGT due, which there probably will be with a sale of a subsidiary.A merger with ECM would be fine. The company isn't in terrible shape, I expect that currency has played a decent role in the profits decline. So in summary, there is nothing much wrong with the company. It just needs a decent top management team (the existing team are regarded as very weak by some shareholders). It clearly hasn't got one. The announcements for the last six months have been inept.
Re: Remuneration Ah, announcement was to depress the share price in advance of agreeing te exercise price for the LTIP exec shares no doubt..... 900k was full for £1/2bn company - hope he's lost money on his shares...A
Added Just increased my holding by 25%Games -- Go on guys, you know you want to!!
