Premier Foods Q3TradingUpdate-Conference Call From January. Anyone else listen to conference calls? [link] DL
Something afoot at Premier? Surely something is going on?? RNS statements of increased holdings plus a share price that has been soundly rebounding. I am not going to put up a case to buy now. but was severely tempted when the price fell to about 30p a share in January 2019. Now 41.05-41.30p. As I noticed a US company mentioned again- is this a coorporate raider? I said that I was hanging on as I felt that PFD was at a pivot point in my eye to coming good. Despite Brexit etc the recent PFD results did not look too bad to me. I am wondering if a more softly softly lower interest rate and monetary policy has something to do with it. Any ideas? The Buzz
Something afoot at Premier? I hope to attend the AGM on Wednesday. I was at the same venue only a few weeks ago. It is an island of tranquillity, in a modern office block overlooking Tower Bridge. Considering the .explosive’ nature of some of the motions it should make an interesting meeting!! I assume that stake building has been going on so on that basis the last dollop of shares should be added today. Initially the price was a bit down but is now 46.3-46.6p - about the highest that I have seen for a while. Whilst it is tempting to sell this lot (cost 36p only a few weeks ago) I want to hang on to them so I can legitimately attend (although I have a bit of paper saying how many shares that I hold). I will try and remember to post what happens! The Buzz
Something afoot at Premier? This might have something to do with it: [link]
Something afoot at Premier? Most odd. I posted heavily in May to say that I thought things could come good and bought way over what I would normally buy. I have been steadily selling off - just sold another 25,000 and got 44.04201p - way above my expectations for the planned short term gain. One is tempted to be greedy as the price seems to be relentlessly going up, now 44.5-44.7p, but I have decided that a good profit now is just too tempting. I still have a few more shares - partly for a longer term holding for recovery prospects but now mostly sold out with a very satisfying profit. I hope some of the others followed suit? The Buzz
Something afoot at Premier? Volume is up today, and currently a 5% rise, which is a rare sight. Maybe just the hope that the CEO goes, or even McCormick coming back with the offer which looks fairer, now we have seen how things panned out after the rejection
Oasis +55% price? A sale of a brand will only happen if Darby goes. Seems he opposes a sale with an immediate impact on SP and prefers the drip drip approach. But where will SP Be if there is another profit warning because of the hot summer?
Oasis +55% price? Proactiveinvestors UK Premier Foods and Oasis Management's war of words continues ahead of CEO vote Premier foods (LONFD) - Oasis is calling for one of Premir's gems - Batchelors - to be sold off but, perhaps unusually for a hedge fund, it is not seeking for any of the proceeds to be directly returned to shareholders but instead to be used to...
AGM vote Plenty of press comment on the need for change at the top! I hope investors will use their vote to get the CEO out.
Rns offer up to 65 PFD… XXXX SP re-blogs news paper article news that an active investor has gone after management for being in "Zombie like State " five years of failure . Share price 43% below the 65p offer they turned down over two years ago . I made a mistake buying on 30 March 16. And a further one topping up on 1st April 16 ( fools day lol ) @ 55.43p
AGM vote Are investors ready to use their votes to reject the CEO? Surely this time he must go.
Increase in Stake PSG Asset Management RNS just out - a good sign with increase in stake PSG Asset Management to over 5%. They must be feeling bullish with an increase in their already significant stake. Agreed that they are no big purchases, but the sentiment must be there. About 39p a share now seems to be the current price - so at last the price is showing a modest gain on my recent outlay. The B
Re: Warren Buffet "float" & Premier Foods An interesting point thirty fifty twenty. I do not know the answer but found the below information on the Trades Union Congress web site. It sounds as though the pension surplus money might go to the company which should be good for shareholders, though no guarantee what management would do with the money.........................................................................................................................................................."What happens to any surplus in a pension fund that is wound up?There is very unlikely to be a surplus in any scheme that is wound up. If there were to be a surplus in a defined benefit (DB) pension scheme, it would be dealt with in accordance with the trust deed and rules. This could include increases to member benefits. In certain circumstances, part of the surplus could be paid to the employer.............................................................................................................................................................
