Re: Sold too soon short interest and pending dividend WILL keep this going northwards for a little longer.......---------- ---------- ------Chartists make me laugh - the way it is present as fact. Not use of the word 'WILL'.Absolute drivel.
Re: SELL I reduced my holding this morning by 20%.The SP could easily keep rising, but we've had some stellar increases recently. Also, the SP has a habit of giving back gains - which could present a good re-entry point. All good, though.
Sold too soon Yes the RSI is slightly overbought here but the short interest and pending dividend will keep this going northwards for a little longer the 50% and 61.8% Fibonacci retracement levels from the previous 952p high come in at 648p and 720p respectively and the latter is my target on this run.Not too late to jump back in and catch the tail end of this runBuy
Since the SFO... all seems to be good news and good management. Lots of contract wins and debt reduction through this sale today and the earlier dividend cut. PFC seem to be putting themselves in a position to handle almost any outcome from the SFO action.
Re: SELL I am tempted to sell too...but Brent at $75 I cant. Its still too cheap. But good luck either way.
Re: Broker Note That 670p was the kind of short term target sp I have in mind, at which point we will need to judge to hold. Long term value maybe 850p, but with lots of ifs.
Re: SELL Well done Boyo. An honest post. Given the emotional turmoil PFC has been over the last 12 months and given the current rates environment of 1% in a 1 year ISA then a 20% returning on this (or 20x an ISA) is certainly something to be very content with.
Re: SELL As the sp went over 620 I sold all today - contrary to my earlier note. I had reckoned on 620 being the absolute near term max although 700 plus eventually seems possible subject to the SFO risk. I'll restock if it drops back as I anticipate. It's been a very bumpy year and I'm happy to have made 20% overall after a massive initial loss.
Broker Note Jefferies raised price target to 670p today.
Re: SELL Ex div date is Wednesday. Perhaps the SP will drop to reflect the USD0.25c final dividend. Full year div yield is about 4.4% at current SP. However the underlying recovery is driven by continued mandates (SFO investigation hasnt shut them down), general sentiment toward the SFO investigation (nothing so far and nothing against Unipec) and oil price. In other words, it may end the week significantly higher or lower but for different reasons.
SELL EX DIV DATE LOOMINGSold the lot today with tidy profit in a view to buy back end of week.Fingers crossed.LT
Shorts It's riding up nicely with PoO, of course, but interesting to see that the level of shorts ( shorttracker.co.uk/company/GB00B0H2K534/ ) is still at around the same level as 12 months ago - although it has declined by 3% since mid November. I'm progressively taking some profits now whilst retaining a long-term core holding
Re: Further mandate Spiritfinder you've got to be pleased with your call! We almost passed £6 today and all O&G seem to be on the up. I'm in good profit and intend to hold past the imminent ex-div date and will then consider top slicing. I can see the best case of the SFO investigation falling apart so will be tempted to keep holding. I'm interested to know other opinions on targets now were closing in on £6.Enjoying the ride so far. Re: Further mandate PFC proving it is well placed (hah) to capture its share of new business is what will do the sp the most good. Assuming of course that the prospect of the SFO enquiry finding something materially actionable fades away ... something to hope for with the departure of Green this week.Business outlook of course is strapped to the price of oil, a multiplier of sentiment greater even than compared to the oil majors as you say. However, I would not be too quick to offload the likes of BP where every barrel is $20 of profit at the moment.
Re: Further mandate Selling my BP / SHELL holdings to put into PFC - looks to be the makings of a solid recovery stock, with a more compelling Capital Gains / Yield profile. All the right signs and underpinned by the significant Director Buys and Contracts.
