hi I use pets at home vets service but l get a bit worried l get different vets assistants and vets l had 3 tell us our cats health was fine then one telling us she had a heart murmur both sides they were pushing products and their own medicine flea treatment is the same as on the shelves they charge more.consultation last4ed less and ten minutes with treatment and injections at nearly £30 a go and treatment it was £ 80 I calculated you can get the same treatments out of ASDA cheaper. I hope there is not a scandal on the way .Pressure to make profits and margins is not good.£80 less than 10 minutes is not good , The new chip law for Dogs will raise a lot of money we had a chip in a cat cost £10 after the offer finished it was going to be £25 that is for a Dog more like.Something isn't not right about all this but go along with your Dog or Cat etc and find out .They were pushing for our Cat to have its Teeth cleaned again over £200 no wonder they are making money....
Re: Any ideas on the sudden drop? Our vet said the other day that there hasn't been many fleas this year to infect our furry friends , so sales of treatments have dropped. the shares apparently dropped on this announcement ,
Re: Any ideas on the sudden drop? Thanks Peter. It didn't sound like much weakness though, so the drop seems a little overdone doesn't it?
Re: Any ideas on the sudden drop? From ADVFN this morning :-Pets at Home slumped as it reported an increase in first half sales but revealed weakness in the health and hygiene business.Cheers,
Re: Any ideas on the sudden drop? Buy on rumour sell on news is the only indicator that I can think of.8% seems a little harsh tho.
Any ideas on the sudden drop? An 8% drop on some reasonable trading comments seems a bit harsh, or am I missing something?
Pretty cool PETS / BME infographic report This infographic compares Pets at Home Group and B&M European Value Retail S.A., they have details on valuation etc. ETS-LSE:BME" target="blank" rel="nofollow">[link]
Re: Telegraph- Questor I am told that the TV program "Watchdog" will have a piece on the company this week that is an expose of the poor conditions for it's animals in the shops. Anyone heard anything of this and will it have any meaning for the incredible upward movement recently?
Telegraph- Questor "Pets at Home: shares rehoused: On Tuesday, private equity firm KKR sold 108 million shares (half its stake) in Pets At Home, the retailer it listed in March 2014. This is the latest in a series of U.K. disposals by private equity groups. Initial public offerings backed by private equity houses were a big feature of the U.K. stock market in 2014. They accounted for 65% of all IPO money raised last year, according to PwC. Post-IPO restrictions on the sale of shares are not compulsory in the U.K., as they are in some markets, but they are a common feature of share offers backed by private equity firms. Typically the company and selling shareholders are barred from further share sales for 120 days, unless the bank underwriting the IPO specifically grants permission for such sales. That is to be expected. Investors know a private equity firm is always going to want a full exit eventually. Perhaps greater significance should be attached to Directors share sales, since their commitment to the company should be longer term. A study of 580 IPOs over 16 years by professors Wasim Ahmad and Ranko Jelic found that locking in Managers for longer periods did improve long-term survival of newly listed companies."
Re: Rapid jump in price and volume Maybe ... lost a little today.
Rapid jump in price and volume There has been a huge jump in the volume of shares being traded and very steady increase in the share price. Looks as though one of the big fund investors is buying in or some announcement.
Re: Jump market adjusting expectations. PETS has delivered above expectation results, with a robust business model, and a satisfactory dividend yield. Upward swings were only a matter of time. -U1
Jump Any idea why big jump today?
Why the drop? 6% price drop today!Does any body know, why?
