Re: Added real shares at 54 S - agree with your take - there is still a lot of uncertainty around PDL.

Re: Added real shares at 54 Closed this mornings trade Andy. My aim was more to drop the mean entry price which I've done by 3p to 57. Not sure about accumulating for the moment and I'm in no rush.

Re: Added real shares at 54 S - lets hope we see a convincing bounce at last - still seem to be sellers on any up tick, but I added at 55.12p.

Re: Disclosures - wish lists Looks like a fair divergence of views out there..If you follow Motley, the current market is poor..If you read Quester.. they have been fairly even handed..If you listen to the brokers, they see a huge potential gap opening up in the 55p - 155p range..Sentiment in the sector is currently low... much down to the Chinese slow down....The advantage definitely lies with those who can produce the quality end gems... and I`m sure the appetite will remain strong there, and the rising affluent Chinese middle class buyers will be high in the pecking order..Once the current over supply on the Industrials is corrected, I`d expect the market to normalise and recover.. Similarly, any positive news should boost levels..Plenty out there sniffing for bargains to fill the Christmas stocking...and markets on a good day after a poor run of late.

Re: Disclosures chart is still not suggesting a rush to enter. Also, there appears to be a little gap at around 44p. Worth being aware of I'd say.

Re: Disclosures bt - its proving very hard to find any certainty as to what PDL is up to, BUT it looks as though there might be a bit of a recovery over the next few days. The fact the SP has been under the 10 day EMA for most of the past month just show how poor sentiment is - the last time the SP moved near the 26 day EMA was a month ago! It would be great if the SP could move up to it reasonably soon, but......Don't have much conviction the downtrend has run out of steam yet, but it will be interesting to see how much it bounces if it does. Today was the first blue day after 8 in the red!

Re: Disclosures Hi AR,Looks as though you could be right, the slide is possibly slowly stopping.I had technical issues over last week so wasn't in anything. (It happens).

Re: Disclosures wl - well the best buy quote I just got was 55.65p, so it strikes me an insti is unwinding, and therefore no rush to get in and add bwcause it 'seems' cheap. I will wait for next week to see how markets and PDL go.I seem to remember you were reasonably bullish on a particular goldie (cant recall its name) and sentiment took the SP way below anyones worst fears, so it could well happen to PDL, as though the fall to date isnt horrendous enough!!Have a good weekend -

Re: Disclosures Part of the equation is about diamond prices, and how soft the current market is... and the extent to which it is over supplied just nowGiven that diamonds are a fairly scarce commodity, I`d have thought at some stage the demand/supply factors should even out...If they can boost the output of quality gems, that would help, but currently, I believe they are working some lower grade resources.Maybe someone has a better grasp of the mining and exploration programme going forward. There is also a debt issue to address, but given they are just about to pay out a maiden divi, that should not be too challenging..one would thinkCertainly Quester always seems to rate Petra in its reports....and broker notes all look fairly positive...

Disclosures With such high volumes of late and a tanking price, I'm puzzled at the lack of disclosures IF it has been the big boys been selling off past days? Perhaps the last flush of beaten up pi's?Mid November, faint sound of jingle jingle, Santa rally rebound soon? Who knows. I've had a nibble too 57.3p.TT

Re: Bullish Div BS - back in July 2013 PDL hit 212p, and a 75% pull back would take the SP to 53p, but as my recent 'toe in the water' buy suggests its very tough gauging sentiments pull when the level of anxiety cranks up so much!

Andy Reilly 13 Nov 2015

Re: Bullish Div BS - well, looks like you are right there. Sentiment towards PDL is so poor, which is why I only took a small punt. It will be interesting to see how much it dithers around the 58/60 area - recovery or continued crash.I avoided many of the oilies (Ophir etc) as I just felt that, despite their low SPs, they would probably take much longet to revoer than many dared hope - could well be the cae with PDL! Its lost somuch in a year! ATB

Re: Bullish Div Ah yes... the much vaunted rate hike...??How long has that one been used to rattle markets...??And what kind of hike are we expecting... I`d almost say lets have the full monty.....and bash the borrowers for a full 1%...That would give savers a much deserved lift in savings value....and encourage a long lost habit of saving....Meanwhile CHINAS growth has slowed to only circa 5%, I believe....And US jobs just keep on appearing...but mostly of the minimum wage, part time variety, I suspect... The rich get richer, while the poor go to the food banks, apparently. And the Eurozone lives in a vacuum of stagnation....with its broken model, and migrants swarming around, looking for refuge from the madmen who wreak havoc...Will Mr Obama save the planet from global warming or turning into a dust bowl, with waste mountains and pollution chocking us all , and our seas poisoned, as the ice caps melt, and sea levels rise...Hopefully the penny will drop, and sanity return... and our forests restored, and the animal habitats restored for our grand children to enjoy..A long period of pause to the global growth obsession would not go amiss, and we can stop playing to the market cowboys

Re: Bullish Div lower lows aheadmarket has enjoyed quite a decent rally since the sell-offs from late August/early September. now we can expect some pull backs..... especially with upcoming rate hike chatter. unfortunately miners have been pummelled throughout. can't see the bottom here. in any case this will make the likes of Petra, GEMD, etc even more attractive. good to start accumulating. i'll only buy 15% of intended position now, and increase weights as/if we go lower. my opinion of courseGLB
