Production at Evander Does anyone know if production has recommenced at the Evander mine following the infrastructure reconstruction?
Re: IC Thanks Casabanker, I've done the W8BEN form was checking if S.A. had a similar arrangement.Appreciate the reply.
Re: IC Kool Keith,The UK has a reciprocal arrangement with the US over withholding tax and, provided you have submitted a W8BEN form, the tax will not be subtracted. Unfortunately, there is no such arrangement with South Africa. It would be helpful if ii netted down the dividend rate on their information on this board as currently it is misleading. Casa.
Re: Interim Results Whilst there is a slight shortfall in forecast production due to an accident, how many company companies can announce a 50% (£Sterling) increase in eps (earnings per share) and not get a decent bounce?Hopefully, this will work its way through in due course, but its been signalled many times, and still doesn't seem to generate a re-rating.According to Stockopedia statistics this is currently rated as 6.49x PE, which is well below average for the market in general (average = circa 14 x PE).
IC Had a look at IC and spotted Mr Bearbull picked up 125k @ 15.75 Just looked at some of thew comments on here, can you reclaim the S.A. withholding tax on dividends?
Interim Results [link] comprehensive report here. I am pleased and will add on any weakness. Well done PAF all issues addressed and being professionally dealt with, am impressed !
Re: Fatality The min shaft had already been closed for 55 days for return, so the drop in SP reflects the anticipated drop in production from 195k to 181k ounces.
Fatality Can someone explain how 1 fatality can knock over £35m off the market cap?I am staggered by this reaction
RNS: Notice of fatality ... and warns of gold production fall
Re: Dry RNS Good to see you back posting, Andy and I hope that you have made a full recovery. This should emulate the bounce enjoyed by its peer group, I would have thought: previously it closely followed the gold chart, but so far it is lagging and has some ground to make up.
Re: Dry RNS Call me 'old fashioned', but the chart is looking good to me, and a more 'convincing' break above the 200 day EM looks a real possibility now - thus more progress with the SP. Just my view, but BUY on any further weekness (if there is any) and it could reward nicely -
Re: Dry RNS M - well gold needs to attract a bit more enthusiasm, and with the Donald strutting his rather cheesey stuff, it probably wont be too long before there is more enthusiasm, but meanwhile we really need to see the SP move above the 200 day MA for a bit more confidence towards PAF (17p plus and above)- we shall see soon enough! Best of luck all - ARPS - there seems pretty solid support around 15.25p, so some hope that the downside is limited from here on in!
Re: Dry RNS Yes Pharma, agree dull can be good. Mind you in that original share consolidation RNS it really was pretty much only analyst friendly. I sense in the latest RNS they have attempted - in their own way-to put out a slightly more pithy headlines, but it probably amounts to swapping a dark grey suit for a light grey one.Maybe one day they burst out in a full glitter disco outfit, and surprise us all
Re: Dry RNS Yes Muzzletoff I would agree the RNS is a bit uninspiring but I have no problem with that as this often indicates a conservative management which I think is important for mining companies. I would add another plus, and that is the positive performance of the colliery which I must admit I was a bit concerned about when it was acquired. I guess the usual worries about labour problems and government policies may continue to keep the share price in check but I am happy for PAF to remain one of the very few mining companies in my portfolio.
Dry RNS I think the dry style of PAF reporting - which arguably is a boon compared to some of the Hypeyou hear- mitigates against strong price rises.Basically we seem to have several pluses:-Increased EPS due to consolidation of sharesIncreased currency exchange movementsIncrease in Gold price receivedIncrease in productionBack in the Summer PAF announced their share consolidation but such was the denseness of the language and lack of PR speak, that hardly anyone seemed to appreciate it was a near 20% increase in EPS.Obviously the market is forward looking, and has wobbled on Gold pricing but I think they are missing a nugget here.
