Re: merger announced Well, quite a lot of redundancies and then trying to merge IT systems. Looks like there will be quite a lot of cash burn in the early days.

Tomorrow's results My guess is they won't be great and price will fall back. Its had a strong rise since the low of sub-100p but the last trading update wasn't inspiring. Also lots of people taking the cash from their pensions (what a surprise) rather than buying annuities.

Re: Partnership shares I agree that the outlook given sounded very poor, but in my view it's a case of "under promis" and "over deliver".If you look at Steve's interview last week it's much more upbeat. Than take the comments from Just Retirement's results (new products, market consolidation) and you'll find it's a lot more promising than what the share price suggests.It has also brocken through 141.50 which is a good sign.

Partnership shares I'm surprised that it's so quiet on this board as I think that there is a good opportunity here.I've first bought some at £1 and it's already increased over 30% in the last three months.Partnership has got it's results out next week and I expect them to surprise the market similar to Just Retirement which saw it's shares jump 17% this week.Amongst many reasons here is why:Underwritten bulk annuity market hits £700m[link] you now look at who did those deals... we'll see that Partnership did almost half including one single deal worth £206 million.[link] only do I have full confidence in the board of this company.
