Nice Start No real reason for the previous fall so optimistic that this could be the start of the ascent back up. Certainly plenty of good newsflow anticipated between now and the year end.Own due diligence

Killik view on update Might be of interest... OPTIMAL PAYMENTS (BUY 450p TP) Trading Update. Further to the trading update on 21 May 2015, the Company confirms that trading to the end of June remains strong and in line with market expectations. The company reiterates that FCA approval for the merger is expected not later than 30 July, although there is potential for the FCA to extend this deadline. Completion of the acquisition of Skrill will take place shortly after FCA approval. Completion will be followed by an application to move from AIM to the Main Market. We assume that todays statement is a response to the weakness in the share price (the company did not make a 1H post-close statement last year and it updated only a few weeks ago). It is hard for us to tell if it will have a positive effect on the share price since we are not clear what has caused the decline. Naturally, since Optimal has not yet acquired Skrill, there is no explicit comment here on trading at Skrill. The shares are trading on an FY15E EV/EBITDA multiple of 9.1x and P/E of 13x falling to 5.4x and 10x respectively for FY16 with a full period contribution from Skrill. The current market capitalisation is £957m and the proceeds of the rights issue, not yet paid to the vendors of Skrill, was c.£400m. Naturally the weakness in the share price makes us nervous that there is information circulating we are missing. On balance, we remain convinced that the share price will recover once the acquisition has completed and management are able to discuss the prospects for the enlarged group. The issue not addressed in the RNS is the likely delay in the move to the FTSE 250 index...we understand it could be December not September..Numis has had an aggressive seller who might just be impatient.
Re: Price BChief -- Interesting you should state the position relative to Paypal. I've only just stumbled on OPAY, and having built up a sizable holding in eBay, prior to the July the 17th split out of PayPal, I'm wondering where OPAY fits into the picture.PayPal has 165M customers but 80% of PayPal's profit comes from the USA and The UK. They just paid $800M for ZOOM to handle money transfers that gives them a big inroad into BRIC countries. What are OPAY's strengths, before I start reading through their annual reports?Games
Re: Price Big Chef, hold your nerve fella, all will be well here! This is not a Moni
Re: Reminder .lookin long range..230 target..<<<told u back in november...BANG ON!!
Re: Price nearly there already then willow!am thinking I had a close shave selling out after the original skrill announcement.wanting to see a new uptrend to buy back in but not seeing any sign yet...wondering what is the likelihood of a doomsday outcome like over at MONI in which enlarged OPAY are slowed down by the latest acquisition and while they are trying to digest it, the gambling sector reduces off the back of a Chinese economy rout (re Macau bBig Cheusiness etc), and PayPal just wipes the floor making most of the competition simply irrelevant - ie they might buy OPAY but only once their market value has dropped to pittance so that its an easy picking. I've made assumptions before that being in a stock was safe because of the buy-out premium, only to find the competition simply wait until they're cheap!!That's playing devil's advocate - can someone point out this is far too negative and unlikely to happen, only 4 months ago OPAY was riding a rising tide!Big C
Re: Price I would imagine buying anywhere around the current level will prove good value in the long term. I am pretty fully invested so might top up but will set the bar at what I see as quite high, 220 area
317,766 RNS - Old Mutual increasing holding - I think.[link]
Re: Price Been keeping an eye on the price and hoping to buy back in at around £2.If it does then great but if not there are other opportunities
Re: Price Thanks freedom-thirty5, All makes sense. Also in for long term here and took full allocation. Am expecting quite a bit of up 'n' down but as this was a tad greater than normal so thought I may have missed some news...and doesn't some 'news' have a bewildering effect on stock!
Re: Price Well the company has said the recent acquisition or reverse takeover or whatever we call it will be financially accretive from the NEXT financial year. So those with a shorter term view will read that as "expect poor financial statemements for the next year or so". I was expecting the drop, but my holdings are all for the long term, so I tend to appraise them on that basis. I haven't bought more, and I don't see any hurry to do so, but I also see no need to sell any in the foreseeable future.
Price Hello All, Any ideas why these are dropping more than norm? Surely not all down to the rating..?
Sharesplease, look to major shareholders. Biggest shareholder "Old Mutual Global Investors" had 13.9% shares month ago (now 12.9). They have huge position apx 55mln shares and withdraw profits, after skrill acquisition. When big players will stop selling - price will up.
Bought Bought 5k''s worth at 264.85 having been waiting for a good entry point for sometime. Only time will tell? Give it a year and this should have been an opportune moment! gla jd
