Re: nil paid rights I was going to sell my rights but I am increasingly tempted to take some or all of them up
Re: nil paid rights Hope so , I think as it is a heavy weight rights issue a lot of investors might not want to invest any more and happy to sell out their Nil paid rights issue.
Re: nil paid rights Bit of a rush for the exit on Opay at moment. With hindsight, the smart trade was of course to sell shortly after the deal was announced. All with be good over time.
Re: nil paid rights Thanks found it
Re: nil paid rights Price of OPAN.L (Nil paid rights) is c. £1.26, which is £1.66 below the SP £2.92 at end of close today. If these are sold the buyer has to pay £1.66 for these to be converted into ordinary shares. Contact your broker if you intend to take up your rights... Not all have the same deadline. Mine for example has a set a deadline for the 28th to inform them of my decision in writing and to make the balance available in my account.
Re: nil paid rights Try the EPIC "OPAN".
Re: nil paid rights I have Nil Paid rights showing in my account, with the Date 01/05/15 at a price of 123p. I've had no contact from my broker on these as yet...
Re: nil paid rights Is the nil paid rights being quoted now?
nil paid rights How do you work out what the nil paid rights price has been calculated ? Can any one please explain , thanks
Re: Maths behind the rights issue explai... Well let's hope that's not the case!
Re: Maths behind the rights issue explai... If you like the company but feel you already have the right amount in OPAY, you need to take up some of the rights to maintain the value of your holding (otherwise diluted). What are the pros and cons of funding the part-purchase by (a) selling some shares, (b) selling some rights in the market or (c) letting the rest of the rights lapse and relying on OPAY themselves to sell the unused rights and refund the proceeds in cash?Personally, I'm in two minds, having once been hurt when a company (Aero Inventory, was it?) planned to move from AIM to the main market and found it was bankrupt when the accounts were looked at under the stricter main market rules.
Re: Maths behind the rights issue explai... Yep and selling your rights in full, selling part to take up some rights on a cash flat basis or taking up your rights in full are all economically the same, other than the size of your investment in Opay afterwards (larger of course for each of the 3 options in turn). The other option of course is to just to sell your shares in full and be done with it.
Re: Maths behind the rights issue explai... I think the key "simple" message is that those who held prior to the announcement have done very well i.e the rise up to 544 ish, and the RI itself now becomes neutral. The decision is now whether you sell (some to pay RI ?) hold or buy depending on your own circumstances and your views on Opay's future.
Re: Maths behind the rights issue explai... I think your maths is correct W67. I now know where I was going wrong; I was using 420p in calculating TERP. Once I used 540p the figures began to balance. Basically the present value of my holding is maintained irrespective of any combination of part share sales to finance some of the rights, rights sales and rights take-up. Many thanks.
