Performance One has to question whether management have deceived, are incompetent or have a deluded view as to the value of their IP.!! Probably a combination of all three but on recent evidence time to leave the "sinking ship" and leave the Captain to watch it flounder further.

ALDI - AMAZON - LIDL - Takeover This is crying out to be taken over, would suite the growth plans for Aldi, Amazon, or even Lidl, as they move into offering delivery services on food products.Question is which one and when?

Re: Death Knell? Okay, I'm not here to make derogatory remarks and hang around to gloat as the share price falls. I appreciate that you have stated that you are 'a long term supporter of the company', however, as all experts advise, don't fall in love with a share - these people are always quick to pick up on positives and quick to dismiss negative comments (common human trait - guilty of it myself), ask yourself have you become one of them? My previous post may have had 9 question marks - but that was to provoke people to ask themselves these questions. As for telling me too go and do 'homework' - there is nothing out there that is going to tell me how the PE ratio is justified. The company may have fantastic technology, but is the business model sound? With such small profit margins, how many companies are going to sign up to the OCADO way? How many do you need to justify that PE ratio? Is Amazon offering a cheaper alternative?Sorry, there I go again with the question marks! Don't worry I shan't post again - I don't own these shares and never will.

Re: Death Knell? Why have you suddenly pitched up here to offer comment containing nine question marks. Suggests you don't actually know what you are talking about, so previous remark still applies. Do your homework.

Re: Death Knell? Common Sense? What common sense is there with OCDO?Market Cap £1.8billionPE Ratio 226.37 Net Profit £? minimalNet Debt £? sizeableSecond(?) most shorted share on the FTSE - does this not suggest anything? Some of us are old enough to remember the crazy valuations for Tech companies in the DotCom bubble, unfortunately history has a habit of repeating itself and lessons don't appear to have been learnt. I hope those who hold this share haven't fallen in love with the company and will seriously re-evaluate their position. No doubt it will be back up when a deal is struck - but as Tim Steiner states 'the market remains very competitive, we are seeing sustained and continuing margin pressure and there is nothing to suggest that this will change in the short term'. i.e Even with a deal being struck - how can you possibly justify the PE ratio/market cap???Read this: [link]

basket items are..... basket items, says housebroker numis , are unchanged but price deflation is doing the damage .there's no getting away from the savage margin pressure in food retailing ,be it tsco mrw etc .ocdo is doing the right things and doing it well but as genemachine has pointed out it all comes down to valuation and i may have got it wrong here

Re: Death Knell? You are right PT, order size fell by just 3.4%.

Mr Paul Thompson 13 Sep 2016

Re: Death Knell? Please apply common sense. Is the average order size really likely to have been £222.75? Its a typo. Also margin pressure is across grocery retail in general.Suggest you do more homework.

aemouse 13 Sep 2016

Death Knell? Average order size was £107.94, from £222.75. (More than) HALVED!"As the market remains very competitive, we are seeing sustained and continuing margin pressure and there is nothing to suggest that this will change in the short term. How can a market cap of £2billion be justified, when clearly there is little to no net profit on the horizon? Be warned - profit warnings tend to come in 3's.

Re: Trading Statement Absolutely correct and hopefully many of us have profited from this increase in stock price! However the market, being a leading index, have anticipated some kind of collaboration and taking profit on some of your holdings may be prudent in case the promised deals don't materialise....... and that is what I have done!

valeite 06 Sep 2016

Re: Trading Statement well you might be right Genemachine....who knows?.....but i should point out that whilst you thought the SP might trace back to ab £2 (4/6/2016) ,OCDO was a screaming buy then at ab £2.2 .

Genemachine 06 Sep 2016

Trading Statement One week today we will have a 3rd Quarter update on trade and wonder if the much heralded "multiple deals in multiple geographies" will be mentioned! I suspect not as they seem to be deluded as to the value of their technology. The competition in this area is heating up in both this country and in the States and any competitive advantage or usp they believe they have is diminishing by the day. Maybe I'm mistaken but unless they are acquired we should not expect to see any real gain in shareholder value in the foreseeable future.

Re: shore capital.... Sorry Paul, they have had plenty of time and their credibility is already being called into question. I'm afraid the drift down will continue until we next hear some news and the share's performance will be dependent on that announcement. The only encouragement from the Morrison's news is that the exclusivity agreed initially has now been removed from the new contract allowing them to talk to other UK retailers.

Mr Paul Thompson 09 Aug 2016

Re: shore capital.... That is quite unbelievable news. As you know Clive Black at Shore Capital has been predicting the imminent demise of the company for at least ten years.Who knows about the rally Genemachine, however I do feel that with the decks cleared by Morrisons others will have confidence to sign, and Ocado will have more key management time available in which to court them.

valeite 09 Aug 2016

shore capital.... shore capital ,the uber-bears of OCDO have upgraded to hold from sell .
