Buried Treasure Says Nuog are currently a massive red flag. Imo this is one of the riskiest stocks around. Facts. Podcast was shambolic Imo. David Greece is invested and he's a pump and dump guru Imo. Be warned. BT
Re: Hurricane Energy LT, remembering that CGT is use it or lose it and also the free transfers between husband and wife are exempt and the allowance is 10,000 (cant be bothered to look up the exact current figure) then i would suggest the following strategy.1. Transfer enough nuog and aex to mrs lt such as it represents 10 of loss on nuog and 20k of profit. Sell these. She has a net profit of 10k which is covered by the cgt allowance.2. Repeat the above for youself. You have now got 20k of tax free profits you would not otherwise have. You can re invest 30 days later if desired. But run it past your accountanys and make sure you understand the pooling rules to establish the base price of those being sold. You may think it is all too much hassle, but it is a saving of 4k or 8k depending on tax band.
Re: Hurricane Energy SBThanks for that - much appreciated!Two-thirds of my Aminex is in my SIPP with the bulk of the remainder in ISA's with my wife so no real danger of CGT.When I sell Aminex from my stockbroking account with Barclays, and it will have to be 10p+ for me to do so, I shall offset any gain by selling NUOG and probably moving some of that over to my ISA over the coming year/s.You will note from the above that I'm not heavily tax savvy but I reckon my plan should pass muster and keep my tax bill down.the by I genuinely believe that NUOG deals heavily trailed and hinted at some months ago are still very much up and running and potentially .... who knows what?I am looking to top up as and when with a target of 20+ million by the end of April - fools and their money eh?Incidentally, my kids would probably opt for Fools and Horses as they've always had me down as some sort of Del-boy lookalike/soundalike!!!!!!!!!!!! (with a penchant for exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).LT
Re: Hurricane Energy If, over the next year or so, hur gets a good rise from here then i will feel inclined to short. It will of course depend on factors at the time. Why?Just look at what has happened to all those previous high flyers. They just seem to go into terminal decline (though knowing my luck if i do get short hur it will go to the moon). As to nuog, i am still concerned as to how they can develop anything but what is left from nf should provide revenue if they can get it to fliw. Though it is a way down the lune since the incomer gets to pay off their cost befor nuog get anything.Directors buying, though not a vast amount in cash terms, would appear to be positive. Something brewing.Glad to hear that lt made a large profit on aminex eradicating thecurrwnt losses here.If it were me i would probably be protecting some of that. Maybe sell some aex and nuog to realise the tax loss. Possibly reinvesting some. Difficult tax juggling needed.
Re: Hurricane Energy From the look of it those that want to be in are now in.Still holding and like the rest feeling a lot more comfortable
