Re: Alleged drought of NWOG stock d, - "It's the whole system of AIM regulation that's rotten" - I agree, and as a number of the AIM market's undesirable practices are open and obvious, one can only wonder why AIM/LSE choose not to intervene. Poor regulation drives investors and companies away from the AIM market. freelance
irg may fly keep on eye on it
Re: Alleged drought of NWOG stock Yes, I have sold my shares because I don't understand how these things play out. Apparently Judith won't get a vote unless her shares are delivered. And it seems some can't be delivered because they don't exist yet.But surely if the placing is vetoed by shareholders, then Cornhill won't get any placing shares; although it seems that they can be paid in shares for the work they have done - but how many shares will that be? Enough to unwind short positions? Do you know how the open offer will work? If it's legal. Does it mean for instance that anyone can tender to buy as many shares as they like?
OXS about to move stronger?
As far as I see it the highest price paid so far is 0.08p so a takeover might be as this price....not deramping....just observing
how or can I vote ? i am with iii
even after saying ,im getting out as soon as I break even , a buy order gone in head needs testing
Re: Alleged drought of NWOG stock Sorry - kachiri! Wiped message after inadvertently hitting some blasted combination of Alt and a function key or something (PC keyboards were not designed with real men in mind!) and retyped it hurriedly .
Re: Alleged drought of NWOG stock You'll get no argument from me there karachi (when it comes to forwards selling at least, not necessarily shorting), and to my mind the practice seems at best to be on the cusp of legality as they are essentially trading with insider knowledge. That said, if I'm being honest, I can't say that I wouldn't be tempted to engage in it. It's the whole system of AIM regulation that's rotten. But I'd rather see one hundred shorters let off the hook than one hard working and slightly gullible (sorry if that's patronising) PI get burned by piling in a few months' worth of savings here only to be caught out on a sudden collapse, as I'm sure happened on Monday, and I just don't see shorters getting screwed now given that the placing price was 0.05 and that Cornhill (their agent) will underwrite it if necessary.
Re: Alleged drought of NWOG stock "those who partook of it (and maybe forward sold) did on the understanding they would pay a fixed price for them" - you are describing a well known way of making money at the expense of ordinary shareholders. It is disgraceful that this is ever allowed to happen, and if the shorters get burnt for a change that is all to the good.
