Re: Last minute dot com PF thinks that the "chronology" is perfectly reasonable. Those discussions started in January, and it took the publication of the letter to prompt MRO to make a commitment - over the Aerospace only."In our discussions and during the meetings with officials in my department over the last few weeks we have therefore raised a number of areas in which clear commitments will be important. These commitments, which would need to be binding in the event that your bid was successful, include:"The rest you know, or should know. Last minute indeed!
Re: Last minute dot com Certainly looks like the impetus is with Melrose. City commentators are siding with the deal (from Radio 4 this morning and not a statement that's been retracted so far!).Still wonder why some people invest their money if its not for an end product that's better, more valuable and sustainable. With some, there's a morality question over Melrose and their operations, for me that's just not an issue, the results speak for themselves. Roll on Thursday midday and put some out of their misery!
Re: Last minute dot com I think it important re the letter from Greg Clark to look at the chronology.Weds 21 March Meeting with Clark team Weds 21 March signing of agreement with GKN Pension TrusteesMon 26 March letter from Clarks officeTues 27 March letter from Simon PeckhamSince different offices, PR people, approvals, redraft, etc, were concerned the chronology seems perfectly reasonable, the agreement with the Trustees being very important. It also helps convince waverers.
Re: Last minute dot com I hope to make lots of fast bucks!!!!
GKN quiet today Probably trying to figure out what fake news they can get away with.
Last minute dot com Took the publishing of their letter to make MRO say something, which in turn says something about Miller and co."You have indicated to me that you would be willing to respond to the points we have raised by addressing these issues by providing relevant undertakings and given the advanced state of the takeover timetable I feel it would be timely to now do so."But, hey, you all know that and couldn't care less as long as you can make a fast buck.
Re: 5 years The Sclater/Stevens version is good, but the storyline jumps about a bit, the ending is predictable and the reviews aren't complementary.....
Re: 5 years Ive never read Alice in Wonderland. Is it good?
Re: 5 years Try reading Simon Peckhams letter to Greg Clark. Much more positive than Stevens. That is if you have an open mind, which I doubt in your case.
Re: 5 years I just read BBC online and Reuters. What do you read? Apart from Alice in Wonderland, I mean.
Re: 5 years How much?
Re: 5 years Lupo, I bet you are a Daily Mail reader!!!
5 years So, if MRO gain control, they've got 5 years to strip it, take their extremely hefty bonuses and destroy it. Ok, they've agreed to invest in it, so it'll be stripping on a massive scale which'll grind it into the dust.Might as well leave it as it is with a credible growth programme.
GKN holdings from Advfn GS in addition to 3.13% Melrose now have over 9% GKN !!!!Bank of America 5.5% Melrose and 10% GKN.Lets see what they do with them.
Re: Comment in FT (LKH?) Worry not, here's some more reassuring ones for those concerned with looks.
