Re: AGM notes At least now it appears a tighter, more liquid market which was the intention. Don't think MMs knew where to price it after consolidation.The election of Cyril Ramaposa should help - Peel Hunt upgrading SA mining sector.Utikomst results at the end of Jan - might help as well
Re: AGM notes Thanks very much for that update.Price slowly returning to where it was - up (slightly just now to 40-42p). Apparently very small purchase moved the price, but with 3 exchanges it is hard to b sure. All that I can say that my 'small' purchase a week ago moved the price. With so many shares in issue the share movements are odd to say the least!We know that there are huge assets and potential in CZA - especially with the price of coal - PCI is now soaring in price:-[link] it is really a matter of time when the market finally recognises the huge earning potential of CZA.The B
AGM notes Brief notes from AGM, this was a few weeks ago and got to spend 25 mins at end with David Brown - i've left out some confidential bits. Most excited David Brown has been about project.Land access should be sorted this month, conclusion of court process;Have access to land -> get ready for mining;Uitkomst - been a great purchase, profit is up, generating lots of cash and outperforming budget;Demand great - cant produce enough;Still looking for 2nd CGA - performing due diligence on 2 potential targets but criteria very tight;Vele decision in March. If decide to sell then Uitkomst almost cover operating costs;Makhado Take-off agreements finalised in Q1. In discussion 3 big names, could have sorted already but looking for better deal;Chinese massively keen to get Makhado up and running, will provide additional finance and will help with Vele if gets Makhado moving;Financing to be sorted out in next 6-months;Local population are excited about MakhadoNOMR to be granted for 3 GSP mines - surround the SEZ so will be huge. Demand 5m tonnes/year on doorstep;New CFO is great, look at what she did at Impala;Wealth of mining experience;Loving coal prices;
On the Move Up? Just noticed a small jump to 38p-40p on small turn over. Yes the price is slowly heading back to where it belongs... and yes as I had forecast it then I should have bought more shares at the lower price - but (as I said earlier) I already have a very high commitment to coal elsewhere (APF) and I must not get too over-committed to one industry.I suspect that the new head of the ANC will be good news for businesses:-[link] particular I note that not only is the new president elect a successful businessman, but he has also been a director of the miner Lonmin. So I presume that he understands the mining business, the investment decisions - and the need to provide an investment case for overseas investors. ie My perception is that the new political climate ought to be reasonably helpful to MLM.I also note that the price of both coking and thermal coal is still very strong (I have posted loads of links under the APF bb if anyone wants to follow that up).The B
Spread Looks like the market is slowly re-adjusting. Could not get an instant buy quote for 10k more shares, but got a quote of 36.98p for 5k (spread 36-37p). That is quite a bit up on my very recent purchase of 33.5p. One would anticipate that at the old 3p a share rate used for open offers that the new share rate should be 60p, and certainly at least the 44p a share implied prior to the share consolidation. So in principle there should be a further 7p 'easy' gain at the current share price. As tempted as I am, I think that I will stay where I am for the moment as I am fairly well invested and have lots tied up in APF that is at long last started to whizz up again.The B
Re: Richards Bay Coal Price energybangla.com/trump-coal-alliance-to-include-bangladesh/There is still a little bit of life left in coal we could even have a bit of a comeback.
Richards Bay Coal Price [link] are very strong prices and hitting more recent high prices. This may reflect the recent surge in demand for thermal coal from China. eg:-[link] China's thermal coal prices jumped to a record high on Monday as natural gas shortages across the north spurred an unexpected resurgence in demand for the fuel from utilities, tightening supplies in the world's top importer of the commodity.Coal futures jumped to 689.8 yuan ($104.26) per tonne, topping a previous all-time high of 688.8 yuan set a week ago. Spot cargo prices for thermal coal out of Australia's Newcastle port, which acts as an Asian benchmark, have also risen."With these prices the coal mines must be making money. So good income from the current production and a potential high return with future production. Coking coal is forecast to have strong prices for quite a while:-[link] prices are forecast to continue into the new year, with coking coal's sustained price performance mostly attributable to improved demand in China and across Asian markets, including India and Japan."The B
Re: Share Price Yes the market is confused and thin. Just had a small top up of 10k shares at 33.5p. Took a while for the order to be filled. Price has now jumped to 33p-34p (from 32p-33.5p).I think that the price drop has all the hallmarks of someone /people getting confused, as it took an awful long time for things to get sorted out.The B
Re: Share Price Yes... a STRONG buying opportunity near 33p a share for those with some spare cash. There has been no news to cause the drop in value from the previous 43 - 48p (equivalent) average... just the confusion of the 20:1 consolidation and the re-naming.The re-use of "MCM" previously used by Motivcom has probably not helped.We could do with some positive news for the future now, to re-set the SP; as my profitable position has moved to a 30% loss.Current trading is, as usual, in low volumes...
Share Price I now seem to 'see' a share price for the consolidated 20:1 CZA to MCM Mining (MCM). I had anticipated a mid price of about 43.5p a share. Instead it seems to have dropped to a trading range of 34-36p! I cannot see the share merger accounting for this discrepancy. With the continued strong price of coal and the finances more or less put in order, it does seem to be an anomalous price.The B
