To Manx from KCOM.. Have always liked to have telecoms as ~5% of holdings. Was in KCOM for last 3 years - missed out selling at peak (who doesn't...), but as far as monopolies go I like the look of this 'un.(KCOM looks to have effed up a tad in broadband rollout...)Head honcho has £1M worth of shares - which isn't too shabby, and divi is far better covered than even the mighty VOD - which is not too difficult right enough as that's negative.Bought at exactly £2....and already 1p up so GLA - will try the 'lethargy bordering on sloth' approach here for next few years..JGPS. games - you're here as well - I ain't a stalker.... honest.... just a lurker....

IN Bought these for the 1st time yesterday.Seems pretty stable if not exciting.Using the proceeds of sale of HSBC, taking me out of banks.5.4% yield on the back of 35,000 phone users in the 3 legged land seems more certain than a bunch of highly paid bankers on the back of loans in the far east that could be worth diddly sqaut. Also with what's happening to Deutsche bank and Italian banks effectively insolvent, it seems nuts to be exposed to any bank or insurance company stocks right now -- could be wrong of course.I'd like to see Manx data centre services amount to a much bigger share of the business, although with Microsoft and Amazon offering cloud services it must be tough.Games

This could grow well !! 'Cityfibre' has Hull next in line for a 62km broadband expansion. – a broadband infrastructure challenger – has named Hull as its city for expansion, partnering with Hull-based telecoms company, Pure Broadband. The new network, which spans 62km across Hull, is expected to give a boost to broadband competition in the area. Comparison site Moneysupermarket.com does not currently list any broadband deals available in the Hull area, as it's served solely and almost entirely by Kingston Communications.Read more: Broadband is the lifeblood of businessHull now joins Peterborough, Coventry, York, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow in CityFibre's Gigabit City initiative to bring faster internet speeds to cities across the UK. Rob Hamlin, commercial director at CityFibre said:We’re delighted to be able to offer world-class digital infrastructure to cities like Hull, who have historically had extremely slow broadband speeds.working with Pure Broadband, businesses in Hull can now capitalise on gigabit speed internet connectivity to compete and succeed in a digital world.CityFibre has already installed fibre connections to mobile masts throughout Hull, upgrading the majority of the city’s mobile traffic to 4G.This project led to an increase in mobile internet use on Three’s network in the city by 380 per cent.Adrian Bolster, managing director of Pure Broadband, saidurebroadband has operated in Hull since 2009 and our mission is to provide our customers with exceptional service levels and cost effective, reliable products. Our new gigabit, fibre only products are driven by our passion for our city and our belief that Hull businesses deserve the best.Hull is currently one of the worst cities in the UK for broadband. Manx Telecom yield ‘very attractiveÂ’ Manx Telecom yield ‘very attractive’Isle of Man telecommunications company Manx Telecom (MANX) is delivering consistently and the share price is moving towards a rerating.Liberum analyst Jason Holden retained his ‘buy’ recommendation but increased the target price from 214p to 236p. The shares were broadly flat at 213.7p yesterday.‘A solid set of results for full-year 2015 which are generally in line with forecasts. The core domestic business continues to deliver predictable cash flows and supports the progressive dividend policy and yield,’ he said.‘Through establishing a consistent record of delivery, we see the share price continuing its steady upwards rerating. We raise our target price 10% to 236p and view the current yield of c.5% as very attractive.’[link]

Re: In line, establishing a steady tone Could not add anything more positive than you have well said. I was in at 1.60 so superb capital growth and dividend over the last 2 years.Wish more was as good as this investment.ATB

In line, establishing a steady tone On virtually flat revenue, pre tax profit sharply higher. Nothing in the results to scare the horses, with the important Manx Government contract retained and the data centres growing steadily. At market debut in Feb 2014, this promised a 7% yield based on IPO of 142 pence. Unlike so many such scenarios, this met and continues to meet that target, with dividend edging up above 7.3% had there not been offsetting capital rise of some 70p or 50% of 142p.Debt level virtually unchanged. Fairly full value, but starting to build both a solid platform and associated reputation. Share price reaction plus 1.5% in rising market. Hold for me. DYORPB.
