Re: Finals 17 NQM: "I think the management may have an agenda to take the business private again as soon as possible."I can not see any logic in this suggestion. The main driving forces would seem to be Hornby, the CEO who has been in place since 2005 & owns over 19% of the business & chairman Brand who owns 5% himself & is MD of Epic who own over 24%. Between them they control 48% of the shares, so whatever they want to do I am sure they can get done. They've both been with the business a long, long time and are in their early 50s so have a lot longer working life ahead of them. Let's give them some credit for having long term plans for the business. They managed the IPO only 18 months ago. That is a costly exercise as well as hard work and stressful. Explain why would they have done that in the first place if ultimately they want to run a private company?
Re: Finals 17 It just doesn't feel right to me, a castle built on sand?I don't trust the management, I think they may have an agenda to take the business private again as soon as possible. It's a shame because BG products are cheap-ish and pretty good, I install a good amount of their kit and it is decent gear for the price. Masterplug is the best money can buy. Will keep on my watchlist but don't feel comfortable investing.
Re: Finals 17 I did do a longer post but it was rejected for unacceptable language (something to do with male hens). I might rewrite it when I have more time. Suffice to say the results contain no more nasty surprises, cash flow is positive, the shares look cheap, and should recover when confidence does - maybe at the half year results.
Re: Finals 17 Any profitable business growing sales at 20+% p.a. has the potential for great returns for long term holders. They've had a rude awakening that they need to get their financial act in order and have taken some big steps to do that. The top men have a lot of skin in the game, and must be taking the resolution to their problems seriously. I understand others' reservations, which I share, but the upside potential is far greater than the downside. I think it's worth a risk, and added this morning.
Re: Finals 17 Yes as Regie Perrin's brother would say "bit of a male hen's up on the financials front".Still a strong hold or buy as the Pru are excellent investement managers and now hold over 5% so don't bet against them!
Finals 17 Mmmm. Promises, promises. No final divi not unexpected. Improving situation in rest of 18 ...........and especially 19. Jam tomorrow? Not impressed. Even at this lowly price, I am teetering between a Weak and a Strong Sell in this unforgiving market. Must be lots of better places for long-suffering holders to put their (reduced) monies.PS On reflection, decided after review of companies with profit warnings history, Strong Sell.
Re: Finals I think it look great value at these prices, BUT I'm waiting to read the results announcement before I buy any more
Re: Finals they must know the results now so I guess we can be fairly confident there will be no further adjustment to the figure of profit after tax of about £11m.With uncertainty reduced that would leave the shares looking very cheap.Of course it will also depend on the outlook statement.
Re: Finals At least: Monday!
Re: Finals That's the 2nd media company who have wrongly announced when the results will be. They do need to improve their communications!
Re: Finals Still nothing on their website. This really is a terrible example of shareholder communications
Re: Finals Bloomberg seems to suggest results tomorrow
Re: Finals @HardboyNo problems.I looked in the ii account. It actually says Annual report 20/4.Ii system is very poor on highlighting key data.D
Re: Finals Thanks Dhana, could you be a bit more explicit? What meeting? It won't be the AGM or a shareholders meeting - they would have had to publicise that. The Finals are what is expected next.
