Typical, after waiting to top up again I finally bought late this am at £1.41...An hour or so later and I could have bought c10p less! Oh well, as long as the update is reasonable I still think the share price will be £2 by end 2018.

strong update Well I always feel better reading Tigers optimism and I do not know why I always have a sense of apprehension when thinking about LPA. It is like being on a roller coaster at a fairground, where the ride is exciting but can make one feel queasy at the same time. In theory, we should be reading some good news next month when the results are announced, but I just sense there will be some caveat, such as continuation of lower margins, increased cost of imported raw materials etc. who knows? As usual, truly hope I am wrong. I keep meaning to write to the Chairman, urging greater technical expertise on the board and/ or an experienced female executive, and some clear indication of management succession etc. but I never get round to it.

strong update should make a bit more than last years record first half. For the year I expect 1.6/1.8 million plus the 300kThe shares are worth 200p on what we know so an easy 20% available.Interesting story here and much further to run.tiger

Re: Final results galloping was always going to be regretted at some point - carrying on the analogy they are now cantering - no bad thing to be getting on with the work they have to get through.Bad debt is an issue but when facing these issues they are often allowed to get higher before the rug is pulled.They refer to orders in negotiation not yet booked so reasonable to expect some positive newsflow when these are confirmed.Reasonable to put EPS for next year at 15p+ - so if the SP gets back to 150p this is an easy buy again and it is healthy if new shareholders get involved at lower levels.Still think the company is well positioned for continuing strong performance over several years and the rating does not reflect this. Strong buy at 150p!

Final results Tiger's forecast of the EPS was spot on and the sp did indeed rise to 200p for a few minutes. The galloping has stopped and the horse is back in the stables munching on its oats. Maybe the expectations had been raised too high, but I did not sense joy unrestrained when reading the statements. Lots of good news, of course but the bad debt write off hints at lapse in financial control despite two Chartered Accountants on the Board. Relative to the size of the company and levels of profits in previous years, it was a large amount. They state that the company has been bought out of administration and trading will re commence. Cash upfront this time surely!The other niggle is the drop in order intake, blamed on Bruit worries, but that is not really consistent with this type of business I would have thought. Sterling weakness will help but the costs of metal etc. will rise.Finally, the age of the Board and lack of technical representation, is, for me, a longer term concernThe horse needs to be back on the gallops again.

sp Having suddenly been laid low by a heavy cold, the Queen likewise I read, I was much cheered by Tiger still having 300p in his sights. In last year's annual report they hinted at LPA being a potential takeover target. Despite this being the only way the sp is going anywhere near 300p, I truly hope that this does not happen. It seems to be a happy little company serving some niche markets, with few ambitions as far as I can see, to scale up into a major enterprise. All should be well for the duration of the Hitachi project but it is a bit foggy after that. With t the ceo reaching 70 he is probably enjoying a rewarding and not too stressful a lifei and good luck to himThe results are due in Jan and I look forward to hearing their plans for the futureKeep up the good work Tiger and a healthy New Year to all!!

tejo and others Looks like a break out on the North Side and I can see 200p being tested this year for sure.The company will be over EPS 12 p and that kind of growth has to be rewarded.The 300p I set looks well reachable now.good luck and a peaceful Xmas everyone.Tiger

Re: rise Although the sp is looking good these days, it is not really that much higher than the peak it reached in 2014. I do not know who robbie burns is but it seems to me that, although we know that gallop means gallop, until we can quantify the effect of gallop and for how long into the future we can envisage the gallop continuing, it is hard to come to any sort of conclusion. I was surprised that the good news had not resulted in a higher sp than it did. LPA is a very small company and where trades can have a disproportionate effect on the price. Its tiny size helps gear up the impact of changes to the profit, both ways and remains an interesting company to follow.

Is the weakness of £££ helping LPA,will; no doubt benefit for its export markets with the weakness of the £, but there must be more behind the scenes that is pushing this stock in the last few weeks, along withe the trading update. Trades around 70k a day, any one know what historic trades are ??? Keep Shining LPA, K.C.M.
