LLOYDS is going to FLY Hi there JW If you are interested I have been looking at STS today to see how it compares to other IT’s I have been keeping an eye on. It’s all simplistic arithmetic with a little help from Excel. All IT’s are assumed to have been purchased on 28th March 2013 and at the highest price of the day (according to HL.) They were assumed to have paid a first dividend to me of a nett £100.00 or above. (Alliance Trust would only reinvest automatically if the dividend exceeded £100.00 plus the associated costs) All dividends are reinvested automatically and again at the highest recorded price of the day according to HL, the reinvestment is done two days after payment date (or as close to that as possible where IT’s don’t seem to trade quite as often.) Everything up until the start of November last year was based on costs associated with Alliance Trust and from November to date on costs charged by Interactive Investors. My spreadsheet shows STS share price itself increasing by 46.67 percent since 28th March 2013 and gaining 83.20 percent with all dividends automatically reinvested. This final figure of 83.20 percent gain cannot be 100 percent accurate as the actual price received at the time of reinvestment has ben assumed to be the highet price of the day and the actual date of of reinvestment may not actually be the date I have assumed it to be. I will be looking at STS reports and factsheets over the weekend to see if they fit “my crirteria.” Until now I have only considered well and long established IT’s. STS only started in 2005 as far as I can see ther are days where it appears to have not been traded. The only other IT I have that only trades spasmodically and in small quantities is VIN which at times I find quite exasperating but it has traded from a NAV discount a couple of years ago of between 20 -25 percent to about 12 percent today. They are promising to give shareholders a vote as to whether they would like the option to redeem shares at par value. This vote is due in 2024 and if carried will come to fruition before 2027. This and the inabilty to trade my holding in one go through ii (rather than selling in tranches or asking for a specific price that is.) Have an enjoyable weekend Best regards TJ

LLOYDS is going to FLY BrownAdder: I am afraid LLOY is not going anywhere Macro is shrinking continuously You Must Not expect A bank to do well When Divi goes up means no clear way to reinvest in growth

LLOYDS is going to FLY In_the_dark_yet_again: ITDYA, thinking a recent IPO of a FTSE350 company and II don’t create the tag on their own Initiative? What does that say about how seriously they take these discussion boards? You are right. Every company should have a tag as a matter of course. Ones that are missing are because ii messed up. Yours is but one example. It wouldn’t be hard for ii to get their vendor to associate a tag to every company that is missing one… you’d have thought.

In_the_dark_yet_again 21 Feb 2020

LLOYDS is going to FLY @soi, tried that, tried every combination… nothing works. Sometimes I do think I’ll give up with these II discussion boards - it seems a lot of people from the old days before the ‘new improved’ boards were introduced already have, much to the detriment of the overall discussion. Regards, ITDYA

LLOYDS is going to FLY @Eadwig Eadwig: because I don’t know either. At least I’m not alone! Thanks anyway, I’ll contact support and give it a go. I can sort of understand why they may not want loads of new ‘unverified’ tags even if it is a valid TIDM. Regards, ITDYA

Eadwig 21 Feb 2020

LLOYDS is going to FLY In_the_dark_yet_again: Does anyone know how to start an new ‘board’ - Send a message to support? I’d be surprised if they didn’t start one or point out how to do it and make sure the help on the subject is easier to find, because I don’t know either.

LLOYDS is going to FLY I find this site poor for its forum. Not sure if it is because of the re-hosting it did a year or so ago and so many people left. Even the top stocks which have their own boards are rarely contributed too - VOD/RDSB as examples which is why I post here on those stocks. Personally, I don’t mind other stocks being posted here as there are some good contributors and there is good traffic.

LLOYDS is going to FLY Good morning, My guess, and it only a guess, that Interactive Investor would have to be the ones to actually start a “new board” as you say LSE:AJB Kind regards TJ

Eadwig 21 Feb 2020

LLOYDS is going to FLY PrefInvestor1: Most obvious candidate is GLEN as commodities/miners usually get hammered in an economic downturn. Except GLEN makes all its divi money from marketing (trading commodities) which still goes on throughout a downturn. Which is why it is defensive compared to any of the other listed miners. I have a limit order to buy @221p PrefInvestor1: Nice day here and I’m looking forward to it. Markets will have to look after themselves. Have a good one. Snowing here in central Poland … for th first time this winter. In fact it already stopped, perhaps a quarter of an inch on the ground. A sign of the times. Warmest winter by far Ms Eadwig has ever known.

LLOYDS is going to FLY Sorry for this O/T, nothing to do with LLOY. Does anyone know how to start an new ‘board’ - not just a new topic/thread under an existing tag but a whole new board? Namely LSE:AJB (AJBell). I wouldn’t expect much action but it is a FTSE250 company and there is nothing. I’ve tried everything I can think of but I can’t seem to create a new tag and can’t post a comment to a tag that doesn’t exist. These ‘new’ discussion boards seem useless in this respect. But then I might be missing the blindingly obvious. Yes, I am a shareholder (5000 shares) and also a customer, my SIPP which is fair size, so if anyone does have any comments I’m always going to be interested. I know, nothing to do with LLOY so I do apologise to those who are sensitive to O/T stuff ‘polluting’ the thread. Regards, ITDYA, happy to delete is comment later if/when I can start or find a “yellow square UK Companies AJ Bell (lse;ajb)” tag
