Re: 5 years ago Thanks for that Devon, I knew you'd know, hope you are well and have the wine cellar full for the coming win
Re: Is this rise attributable to NTM,I cant speak for Devon, but personally have stayed with my holding and fully subscribed to the open offer.I see KMR currently as having a good medium term potential, and may well invest further if we see some firm consistency in prices obtained.TOMMOO.
Re: 5 years ago Greedies,a 1 for 200 consolidation and a 1 for 71 old share issue at a price of 231.7p per new share plus many more placed with Omani's & IIs.
Re: Is this rise attributable to scratch the running out of steam at 350p.. lets now say running out of steam at 400p then the dynamic duo might step in.. hopefully..
Is this rise attributable to DD and Tommoo topping up or Institutional participation? If the latter then there may be plenty of legs in the rally yet, hopefully...if it looks to be running out of steam at 350p ish . then perhaps DD and Tommoo can step in and get the rally moving again.. hopefully?
Re: 5 years ago Hello DD, Indy, Dour and the gang. Hope you are all well and making money.I'm hardly on iii these days and never post.I haven't been following KMR for ages, but as a matter of interest I take it there has been some sort of split, what's the current ratio of the new share to the old FTSE250 share version? Was their share issues that diluted it even further?A short answer would be great, not looking for the historyThank
Re: Spreads here are incredible in morning N2M,Yes as widespread as the proverbial. Yesterday saw about 5k shares traded until the last "half-hour", then about 113k at wafer thin spreads in no time. Of course, in the absence of an active two-way market, it might be chicken and egg as to which comes first in terms of low volumes & high spreads. For myself, I had expected tighter spreads after August.Interesting UT last Friday(??) of about 2.5 million shares, and 1 or perhaps 2 around the same amount about a week earlier. No RNS re a significant holding, i.e. 3% being crossed either way, or 4%, etc. Just yesterday's disclosure re S. Bianchi's(?) Panamanian company transaction with a sibling!
Spreads here are incredible in morning and discourages participation by at least retail investors, I believe. Which is a shame.I trade through Barclays Stockbrokers and don't know off the top of my head the executing retail broker(s) they use but this morning as a typical example the quote is 270-295 and buying retail size including 'price improvement' is right now at 287p and selling retail size right now is 276p .. some improvement granted, but still too 'healthy' a spread I think. The additional stamp here on top certainly doesn't help either...This is a £300m market company and in that context the morning spread is, in my mind, ridiculous ( I trade AIM small cap a bit and you don't often see such spreads even on these.)The spread closes markedly when the US market open and so the real trading happens in the afternoon. All that said it as ever is institutional money that is the important thing here and there are different venues/rules for them. And Hopefully Institutional money sees us break through 300p this week!!
UK & Mozambique [link] business of KMR is in Mozambique, austral Africa]
5 years ago today, KMR joined the FTSE 250. Still quite a way to go before rejoining!
Re: Iluka Pathfinder have a bunch of the General's shares to sell to recoup English court award. Don't think any serious interest from Iluka unless Moz court decision is imminent and positive.
PFP - LSE - Bucklerfern In the bright sunlight over here, I am not yet in a position to enlighten the man too much yet."What do your buddies on the dark side think about the possibilty of KMR getting their hands on PFP's disputed licences? Anyone had a recent review of the PFP estate HM grade and assemblage?"Still they have 136.83 million shares, and the current sp gives them a market capital of GBP 1.534 million. The URS Scott Wilson Scoping Study Report of May 13th, 2011 shows on page 12, table 1-4 annual final product production of ilmenite 1,245,500 tonnes, rutile 24,000 and zircon of 65,000 over the first ten years of production, but are not too clear as to how many pinches of salt are included! Also a plan for 33 years of production in total, I think. If PFP finally regains full, clean title to the whole, I guess there could be as key questions, by when do they have to start extracting, and when would they need to apply for licence extensions. However, the real question would remain: How on earth could such a minnow raise the multi-hundreds of millions US$ to start production? If there is enough time left on the licences, the cheapest way for KMR to get their hands on PFP's acreage could be through an all share offer for PFP, as picking up forfeited licences on a new Moz.Gov. tender might come in pricier and risk others sneaking them. Whether KMR could get such a merger through all relevant competion authorities might also be another moot point. Also, a key question is as to how long it might take KMR to have accumulated sufficient free cash and ongoing free cash flows, to be able to repay the current lenders on the due dates and also to fund the needed investments on the PFP prospects. Iluka Nearly 11 million shares traded in Pathfinder Minerals , closing 37% up.Im wondering if Iluka have shifted their attention from Sierra Rutile to Pathfinder. It's just a hunch , but it may make good stradegic sense. We will see.Tommoo.
Re: Of concern or not? Hi DDThanks for the response , sounds familiar , I have spent quite a bit of time in PNG over recent years , for a mix of reasons I decided to skip out of KMR for the short term (bought straight into WH Smiths with the proceed which was in a bit of a lull so worked out nice +5%) ,I don't rule out stepping back in at the right point - where that is ?? well if I knew that I would be rich enough to not have to stare at my computer every evening
Re: Ilmenite prices Excellent feedback DD. Thanks. News like this is great as that sweet sport of demand growing strongly and additional supply not yet on line is the key time for making big returns for long investors in the commodity cycle. I see 2017 - and maybe 2018 too - as a transformational year for KMR SP, like 2011 was. (as long as the global economy doesn't have a big recession)It's only 3 bags from here to the magic 1000p !
