US Army From Vascular on LSE boardToday 14:16We already know that the Civilian defence dept. in the US has been testing KMKs technology in Wahington in the thousands of units successfully ...with the potential to rollout and equip dozens of US city's with KMKs devices. What we did not know, until now was when would the US Army start to implement interest in the same handheld devices such as KMKs....confirmation indeed that the US army are moving forward on purchasing this technology.[link]

Re: Questor [link] March we tipped Kromek, the maker of hi-tech sensors including “dirty bomb” detectors, as a buy at 27p, impressed by the enthusiasm for the stock of Gervais Williams, a fund manager He pointed out that the company was on the brink of breaking even and that any increase in sales would feed straight through to the bottom line, as research and development accounted for most of its costs. In a trading statement last week Kromek said it expected “a step change in revenue growth” this year and confirmed that its “products continue to gain traction in all business segments”.The shares have risen by 10pc since our tip, which followed several months of falls. Mr Williams said: “Although the share price has recovered to a degree, we are happy to retain our clients’ holdings.”Questor says: buyCheers, RAC

Re: Today's Telegraph okgetreal,Full read. Interesting that they are also dealing with e.g. Siemens."Questor normally takes a dim view of companies that ask their shareholders for more money; we believe that cash should really be flowing in the other direction. But when Kromek, the hi-tech imaging firm, raised £21m from investors earlier this month it was not motivated by a shortage of funds – instead, it strengthened its balance sheet to reassure its most important customers, including the American government, that its finances were rock solid and that it would be able to fulfil long-term supply contracts. The US government, for example, is interested in placing orders with Kromek that could be vital to America’s national security – and very rewarding to the company’s shareholders. It has placed a trial order for pocket-sized radiation detectors that could be used to pinpoint the location of a “dirty bomb” – a type of terrorist device that would use conventional explosives to spread radioactivity within densely populated areas. One of the problems a dirty bomb would pose is that its location would not necessarily be immediately obvious, as its effects would be seen in shifting clouds of radiation rather than at the point of the explosion.Kromek’s devices are designed to overcome this problem by allowing, for example, large numbers of police officers to carry the detectors, providing sufficient data for a central processing unit to deduce the location of the bomb. Some of the detectors were in use for Donald Trump’s inauguration as president. They are not the firm’s only products. The medical imaging division is in talks with large scanner makers such as Toshiba and Siemens about supplying components that would increase image quality while cutting costs. The other division, which supplies airport scanners, has recently won a $3.1m, five-year contract with a US-based customer.Kromek was born out of research at Durham University and originally called Durham Scientific Crystals. It listed on Aim in 2013 at about 60p and the shares rose to about 80p within months before falling to 27p yesterday.“This is a company that came to the market with expectations that were too high. Investors were then disappointed by the lack of instant results,” said Gervais Williams, a fund manager at Miton.“But even without new orders it is on the point of breaking even on the 'Ebitda’ measure. R&D accounts for most of its costs, meaning that profit margins are high, so any turnover should lead quickly to profitability and then cashflow.“Once cash starts to flow a virtuous circle begins and the shares will respond. I think they are at the turning point and see potential for the price to rise very substantially, by 100pc or more, over the next year or so. I am very excited about this stock.”Mr Williams holds Kromek in several of his portfolios and Miton is its largest shareholder, with about 19pc of the company. He has a large proportion of his own wealth in the funds concerned.Arnab Basu, Kromek’s chief executive, owns a stake worth about £800,000; other directors have smaller holdings."Questor says: buyCheers, rAC
