Macarthur Minerals Update RNS Kiran Morzaria, Chief Executive Officer of Cadence, commented: "The discovery of conglomerate hosted gold within the Pilbara region of Western Australia is opening up a potentially significant new gold province, the mineralisation is thought to be analogous to the Witwatersrand gold province in South Africa where approximately 1.6 billion ounces of gold have been mined. We look forward to hearing the progress of exploration on these tenements."YB

VW here and China VW Accelerates Electric Car Effort With $40 Billion Investment -- UpdateShare On Facebook Print Max Bernhard and Nathan Allen Volkswagen AG plans to invest EUR34 billion ($40 billion) by the end of 2022 in a bid to become the market leader in electric and autonomous vehicles, the latest move by a major auto company to embrace what could be the future of the car.The German auto giant said Friday that most of the investment would be directed toward making electric and hybrid version of its models. The company has previously stated that it aims to electrify its entire portfolio by 2030.Auto companies the world over are ramping up plans for electric vehicles in response to tougher emissions regulators and the prospect that some countries could eventually ban the internal combustion engine."We are laying the foundation for making Volkswagen the world's number-one player in electric mobility by 2025," Chief Executive Matthias Müller said. "The entire automotive industry is facing fundamental changes in the coming years, which will provide great opportunities, but also require us to put in tremendous efforts. The spend on electric and self-driving cars is part of a broader direct-investment program worth EUR72 billion over the next five years. Neither figure includes about $12 billion that Volkswagen and its partners plan to invest in electric cars in China, as disclosed Thursday. As part of its pivot toward electrification, Volkswagen said it would remodel a plant in Zwickau, Germany, to exclusively manufacture electric vehicles. It also said it would concentrate production of its Passat vehicles at its Emden site and Golf models at its Wolfsburg factory.Despite the size of its investment plans, Volkswagen retained its target of lowering capital expenditure and development cost ratios to 6% of sales by 2020. For the third quarter of 2017, Volkswagen's automotive division reported a capex ratio of 6.3% and a research-and-development ratio of 6.6%.The company consistently out spends its peers in capital investment and development expenditure -- both in absolute terms and as a proportion of sales -- according to analysts at Evercore ISI. In 2016 Volkswagen spent EUR26.5 billion compared with EUR19 billion at Toyota Motor Corp. and EUR14.6 billion at Daimler AG.Write to Max Bernhard at [email protected] (END) Dow Jones NewswiresNovember 17, 2017 10:24 ET (15:24 GMT)Copyright (c) 2017 Dow Jones & Company, Inc.SAGE
Re: KDNC Webinar 10th November Lots of breaking up/interference on connection.YB
Re: KDNC Webinar 10th November Evening Blue,Good question.I'm asking about Greenland as nothing heard since extensive exploration in 2014. With the growth in lithium demand. Is there any there? FROM THE WEBSITE, The sampling identified areas anomalous in REEs, zinc, tungsten, silver and gold. There's got to be something there, even granite. In the meantime, keep the lifejacket, oars and rubber dinghy handy for your cruise( IoW? You'll be lucky. Row round the local duck pond more likely ) YB
Re: KDNC Webinar 10th November Good point yb. Will ask why SP has remained so static for so long and whether there is any light at end of tunnel next year or year after. BCN continues to soar and is now at an all time high which I am delighted to say has reduced my Cadence losses by 50%. At this rate I might book a cruise to the Channel Isles!
Re: KDNC Webinar 10th November Having put in my two pennyworth, I;ve been given a link code. So even if you haven't got a question, worth following up to see what's what and listen in.YB
KDNC Webinar 10th November As reported in the RNS of 1st November, have you submitted your questions? It's been 3 years since the extensive exploration program in Greenland. Surely some developments? With devolved powers from Denmark, a rising enthusiasm for Independence, if there is the potential for lithium mining, there should be green lights all the way.KDNC has a 100% Interest in four Exploration Licences covering an area of 213 km2. Live Webinar; Friday 10 NovemberThe Company will be hosting a live webinar at 10.00am GMT on Friday 10 November 2017 to discuss this announcement, performance in 2017 and plans for 2018. The live webinar will be available on the following link: [link] are encouraged to submit questions prior to the call by emailing [email protected] or by clicking on the question button at the foot of the webcasting.YB
@Bluemogganer Yes also sick of seeing this company on my portfolio so will be sold tomorrow for about third of cost. Hopefully someone will eventually make some money!
I know I am ... .. like the proverbial record player stuck in the groove but BCN are touching an all time high whilst KDNC is the exact opposite. Pity they sold a chunk of BCN which is not helping their situation. At this rate, it looks as if my cruise to the IOW may be wishful thinking ...
Re: Achievement! Am still in the blue with BCN having used the proceeds from sale of a fair amount of Cadence stock sometime ago. However, am suffering probably with the rest on this forum from a stonking big loss on Cadence - my worst by far performer in portfolio. Not sure how to play this one and so called successful digs make not a jot of difference which is so surprising given the huge publicity re electric vehicles. Getting on in years now and somehow doubt I will live to see a return -- perhaps best to sell and at least blow the lot on a cruise -- may stretch to the IOW!
Re: Achievement! Not just KDNC. EMH has fallen from 54p to 38p in about 2 weeks (...). These are (very) LT investments - hard as it may be, esp if at an all-time low, not really much point in looking at the weekly/monthly movements just yet.
Re: Achievement! What became of all the optimism associated with the Tesla giga factory? Wasn't that supposed to generate loads of money as Tesla hoovered up the world's supply. Half a million tonnes a year is what they were needing and REM were in on the deal. Note to self stick to boring investments.
Re: Achievement! Yep, when this was REM people could relate easily with what the company was about. The hype around lithium has now reversed a little and the debacle of a reverse take over attempt with Bacanora did little for the credibility of the management, and the subsequent potential poor relations following could be a reason for the massive sell off of BCN stock. I wonder what DL's take on the situation is!!Either way it is so disappointing, especially for lth's, as none of the investments are actually producing anything yet, just digging hole after hole, it's mind numbing (note to self....don't invest in investment vehicles....when will I learn?)All my musings entirely.Best of luck to all, I feel we are going to need it with this shareHoG
Achievement! Congrats Cadence who have just hit a 4 year low re SP!
