What price then I wonder. I'm still in and holding. Just hope I live long enough to see it all come to fruition.YB
Re: BOOOOOMMMMM RNS Lol. Not even a bm. Just a damp squib.Need more than a little 7.7% holding company to move this lead balloon.TP

Re: Does KDNC do Gallium ? Dear theprior,Thank you for your acknowledgement and response. My question was actually very imprecisely targeted, and i must apologise for that.My question would have been more accurate had it said, " from the wide range of holdings in the portfolio of early stage mining companies, under the Cadence umbrella.....how many of the mining companies have Gallium listed as a product or by-product ?........[I seem to recall from earlier discussions that the metals range is actually quite wide....(as per the old title Rare Earth Metals)]SAGE
Re: Does KDNC do Gallium ? Kdnc doesn't do any mining of anything. It's a holding company dependent on other companies in which it is invested. Those companies are mainly in the early stages of mining Lithium. There are bound to be other products arising from the process but Li is the main target.Good luck with your search.TP
Does KDNC do Gallium ? .......apparently , from 2007 research work, the metal in the Aluminium alloy is Gallium.....Just add water to get it to go. Dousing a novel alloy of aluminium with water could offer a portable source of hydrogen for fuel cells, potentially transforming the energy market and providing an alternative to batteries and liquid fuels. It might even revive the struggling hydrogen economy.Earlier this year, Scott Grendahl and his team at the US Army Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland made a surprising discovery. They were testing a high strength aluminium alloy by pouring water on it, and it started to bubble, giving off hydrogen. That doesnt normally happen to Aluminium. The new material offers at least an order of magnitude (10 x) more energy than lithium batteries of the same weight. And unlike batteries it can stay stable and ready for use indefinitely. It lets you make very compact systems, but can be scaled up.New scientist. 12 Aug 2017

Re: Glencore Tycoon eyes electric car bonanz... Maybe not yet into Li but they're into Cobalt in a big way in DRC.I'm still sceptical about the uptake of electric cars. There will be a boom, yes, but demand will plateau as city dwellers max out and the rest of us don't have the range. And the limits of charging at home hit home (eg consumption of home charge = 3x normal household usage.) quadrupling household electric bills will make folks think twice (also high initial outlay)I know they're greener but are they more economical ?ICE cars have still got legs )TP
Lithium today As an investment company doesn't that mean Cadence is ideally placed to move where the emerging technology is. Lithium at present, Some where else in the future
Glencore Tycoon eyes electric car bonanza A Daily Mail article this morning, worth a read.'Experts predict production of electric could soar 12,000% in 15 years.' ( Wish the SP would go up 12,000% but I don't think I'll live long enough. )Some basics:-'An electric car battery weighs around 40stElectric car batteries will need-110 - 165 ibs Copper88 - 110 lbs Nickel11 - 33 ibls Cobalt A Tesla car has around 150 moving partsA typical internal combustion engine has as many as 10,000Strange, no mention of Lithium. Something that Glencore is not into perhaps? YET???[link] look over the Cadence portfolio would seem to indicate Cadence is investing not only in Lithium mining, but also Copper, Nickel and Cobalt. I'm still in and holding.YB
Re: O/T Volocopter Interesting that they promote it as a shuttle service from airports to city centres. With a payload of two including driver this is clearly not intended as a people's car for the masses. Just a novelty for the chosen few !TP
O/T Volocopter Just for interest, Daimler has teamed up with Volocopter to produce an electic flying taxi.News to me.[link]
