Open offer Ripley - I’m holed below the waterline - I have shed-loads of these and have held since the outset (I’man ex TRAP holder). Luckily I learned from TRAP and top sliced enough to recover my full investment cost (inc TRAP) but it doesn’t make it feel any better because, mentally, I wasn’t expecting this. I bought heavily into JOG at prices between 8p and 25p, subscribing in the original placing and in the other two since, as well as buying in the market, having been very taken by the new management team. I’m gutted - this was my banker. A 90%+ CoS in my book and nothing the directors said caused me to doubt the well would do anything other than confirm oil at the upper end of the range. How wrong can one be? It’s not the end if its decided to plug and abandon the well and pass on the sidetrack. There are other unexplored areas nearby but cash is a concern. I have no doubt there’s stacks of oil but it’s finding the stuff… Let’s see what explanations are forthcoming. GL
Open offer Well overdone, may be a little bit more of a retrace but will start to turn around
Open offer HI eagle51 What do you make of today’s 60% drop ?
Open offer JOG… XXXXX 60 % drop in this today .
Open offer eagle51 Thank you eagle just seen this not sure why it did not come through to e-mail as they do these days. Yes still have lots of SQZ must be in my top two picks ever. Also have CLNR … but as i explained missed getting back in here. Wish i had just 3 be a lot less time consuming .
Open offer Ripley - just noted you were in SQZ near the start (from a price rise perspective) - hope you hung in there. My avge is 22p and I have a decent holding. Great management - cracking deals on BKR. Maybe more to follow. SQZ should buy CLNR!! Hope they don’t try to swallow something that’s too big instead
Open offer Hi Ripley - just looked in here and saw activity - hallelujah. There’s more action on JOG (and everything else) on LSE (I post there as dickupham - don’t ask). Yes, I’m still long and strong in JOG - have been in since Trap Oil days although I now have 12x as many shares - all bought at favourable prices. My paper losses on TRAP are paid back many times over and I took enough off the table to leave JOG owing me nothing. Makes a change. The JOG team is first rate imv and the shares have a long way to go. Most in the know are expecting positive results from the Verbier appraisal (the well should spud late next week or the week after and results should be with us a few weeks after the 30-40 day drill is done - say late April onwards). Not really sure how long it will take for results to come through as they have to marry in new 3D seismic data as well. 25-130MMboe is estimated. If the appraisal confirms oil towards the top end of estimates it would make the shares worth £10. Not sure about the SP though as it doesn’t always follow. I hold shares long term and tend to avoid trading except to top-slice if I’m lucky enough. I’m only invested in 3 cos now - JOG, SQZ & CLNR and I like them all. CLNR’s the riskiest but looks a decent bet to me from a very low base (m/c only £15m and with a tie-up with Shell in the bag). SQZ has been spectacular. Why not join the party - seems pretty low risk and has a lot of upside to me. Hope whatever you decide serves you well rgds eagle
Open offer JOG… XXXXX Hi eagle just read a post from you 30 Nov 2017 ( RBD ) wile reminding myself what i was doing with this one . I see i sold this in May and you made a positive comment i hope you held as its above that today after falling back to 144p around Christmas , maybe you are just a well holding and ignoring the swings up and down. I can not recall if i missed that fall ( any reason for it ? ) or for some reason decided against buying back. A poster on hear last call was very bearish on oil shares at the time i recall . Might of been a deramper he has disappeared since.
Re: Sold. It might not have gone through had you been driving south.......................on such events are fortunes made or lost!!Even as I write a butterfly is flapping its wings in a Pacific country.................... Sorry to see you go, Ripley - you're obviously a disciplined investor whereas I tend towards conviction. This has cost me in the past but I remain optimistic about JOG. Time will tell if I'm right to be so.GL
Sold. Set a limit and sold 231p ... went through wile driving north .
