Re: JESC vs TRG stock race Discounts on all Euro Trusts have been too low for a long time. I'm a big holder of this but totally sold out of TRG when it went to a premium. UK Smaller is where the current value is, I see an investing opportunity coming in Euro smaller only once/if ever discounts are back to 16%
Re: JESC vs TRG stock race Two very good choices. I have held JESC for two years and a bit years and it has done very well. TRG I suspect has done a bit better still!
JESC vs TRG stock race After studying trusts for European (smaller co) growth for a while I have not been able to decide between TRG and JESC, shading out JEO on sudden premium grounds. So this morning I took an equal position in both TRG and JESC and they can race each other to the top, pretty sure both will do well in 2018.
Discount now 9% According to trustnet. The EUphoria in the market right now is making watch this trust very closely with a view to exiting at least a portion.
Re: Discount too large I've seen it over 20%. In general (and I've invested in this trust for 20 years now!), anything over 16% is good value. The lowest I've ever seen is about 4%. Weird, since it's such a perenial overachiever, yet it never seems to get the trendy rating of other European Trusts.I like big discounts and if it goes over 16%, I'd say buy again. Watching for the results of the Italian vote in December, of course!
Discount too large Why have the Managers allowed the discount to reach 14.9%? The shareholders would probably benefit from a winding up and distribution at the full value.
chunky fall today... ...anyone any ideas on why?The share price has been zipping along nicely for a while and the sudden lurch downwards on a quiet day is odd.
