Wow Cant believe how quiet it is here considering the rise in August so far! There is more to come here with the resource upgrades due in a few weeks i hear.
Tipped Nice write up in the Daily Mail;[link]
Re: field trip to Pituffik- a note Lex - I hope that you read this morning's SP Angel note - excellent read.
Re: field trip to Pituffik- audio Donker, here is a nice interview. As always, DYOR.Nice interview.[link]
Re: field trip to Pituffik Lex whilst you must DYOR, I am ignoring all negativity from those posters who I suspect are shorters and I have been adding over the past couple of months.
field trip to Pituffik field trip to PituffikBUY Target Price 22p BlueJay are well underway with the summer field season at Pituffik, Greenland. The depth of the sediments in some areas can be between 40-60m along the coastal range crossed by multiple streams of meltwater. Sampling, pitting and trenching show higher grade ilmenite mineral sands along an extended section of beach up to 30km which runs around 1-2.7km in width. The tonnage potential is estimated in the SRK resource report at 7.9mt of material grading 44.3% total heavy minerals with 15.3% titanium oxide within the heavy mineral resource at a 5% cut-off grade. The resource has been calculated to 1m of depth only and should extend significantly with simple confirmation of the greater depth from the sonic drill rig through this field season. The company currently plans to drill between 600-1,000 holes this season using both the sonic rig and auger. The drill will target the basement rock where practical. The field team is well advanced in production of a 600t bulk sample, using simple screening to produce an ilmenite concentrate. The bulk sample will then go to prospective customers for the confirmation of quality and specification that should lead to orders for next year. Production should ramp up with initial production from 2018. The Danish Maritime Certified Bathymetry team are busy in the near shore and Bay Area further defining channels identified in previous surveys which will identify optimal points for loading carriers directly using a short pier. The bay provides a natural harbour for small vessels and a potential pond for dredging with a 'tombola' making a natural bridge and a 'spit' making two sides of the enclosed bay. While there are some mini icebergs in the bay they are small and can be deflected if necessary. The environmental team are on site finalising the EIA and Base Line studies checking the near shore environment with grab sampling used to see what is living on and within the sea bed. BlueJay are utilising the abandoned village of Moriusaq which has allowed the team to accelerate this years work programs. The facilities which the BlueJay team have been able to put in place in this settlement have allowed for 24 personnel managing multiple work programs. Many of the BlueJay team have worked extensively in Greenland and have secured a number of Greenlandic personnel utilising several Greenlanders trained in geology and engineering as well as tapping the local labour force which allows for significant local content. The mess room for the drillers and survey teams is reminiscent of a scene out of an Alien movie, particularly when the Giant Snow Crab comes out. The team are using a tracked Hagglunds all terrain vehicle to complete the scene in this environment. We are impressed by the quality of their chef whose serving of local dishes is outstanding and keeps morale high. Three recent graduates from the Camborne School of Mines are at site helping the survey teams. The three won the 2016 World Mining Games. The combined team appear to be executing a high quality, efficient and productive work program to provide a strong platform on which to build production through 2018.
John Meyer is on site at Pitiffuk, copied from ADVFN---------- ---------- ---------- ------BlueJay Mining (JAY LN) 12p, Mkt Cap £92m Field Trip to PituffikBUY - Target Price 22pToday our intrepid explorer / mining analyst, John Meyer, is on site at Pitiffuk, Greenland. The scene is dominated by beaches of black sand set against the desolate and bare rock of the Greenland Proterozoic Basin. There is no snow for around 50km inland revealing the bare rock and thickening moss which is now typical of Greenland's coastal regions. The sonic drill rig, augers, screens, tractor, loader, JCB excavators, generators, ATV's and other kit is in place for the field season which started last week. The objectives for the season are to better define and to expand the titanium mineral sand resource. Geotechnical drilling is being done for the civil works in preparation for production next year. Environmental studies are also being finalised. The resource drilling is the short term focus with the rigs then moving to site development work.Work is underway for the production of a 600t bulk sample to be sent to a number of customers for testing. The company expects this to generate larger orders for 2019.Conditions for dredge mining generally become operable from June till October giving more than sufficient time for production. The dredges can produce some 100,000t of heavy mineral sand concentrate in three weeks with pre-concentration on the dredge and further beneficiation on land. Unwanted oversize will be left in situ and or be used for the creation of earthworks to facilitate concentrate loading. Light material will be re-deposited.The bulk sample is well advanced with the company expecting to ship this to customers in the coming months.
Re: Bulk sampling started Yes, it's easy to forget that the work day is 24 hours a day in Summer. It will start earlier too. This yearthere was a work programme on the housing at Moriusaq to make the old settlement usable. They are studying where to put the buildings. What you see in the Twitter picture is a digger dropping it's sand into the sorter. Ilmenite is smaller and heavier than the sand grains. It just needs the machine to shake it and roughly separate.Nice weather for it![link]
Re: Bulk sampling started The look of all that near pure ilmenite is great!Hope to see results in a few weeks. With 24 hours per day it should go fast now.LP
Work started on 2017 campaign. The fact that work on sampling & ( presumably other work) means that we are on our way.Getting any operation going is always a tough task, but the fact that the company got its Diggers& Screener up and running quickly is excellent news, the sky looks a beautiful blue & obviously the accommodation would be up and running too. Here's to a good start to the " on the ground " to the summer 2017 campaign of Drilling here & later in the summer - preliminary work on our Nickel prospect at Disko further south.Great stuff. Maybe shareholders get to have a go in the digger one day! FLU.
Bulk sampling started [link] a beautiful sunny Greenland!FLU.
SRK appointed to facilitate construction Great news!
Re: Disko rivals world leader Nickel Hi Lex - FLU told me that he had posted here. I agree with all that he has written. Yes I have quite a stake here; I am a great believer in what Rod McKillree has put together and the way he is managing events as they unfold. There are some very solid private investors supporting the stock.
Hello to the Pituffik sand box Well, as it's early and I'm the only one here, I'd like to mention a couple of things.First, Pituffik is a very large licence, I doubt our children or theirs will see it worked out.I certainly hope so, not just because of the return to shareholders but to the local Town Qaanaaq has over 600 people, I'm sure they would welcome some work nearby other thanthe Airbase at Thule. The reason I like it, ?SIMPLICITY.A bag of sand from your builders merchant weighs about 2.5 Tons - to get that sand, a Digger in a Gravel pit, digs up a load. It goes on a conveyor toshakers which sort out the different types, sharp, washed river, pea shingle etc.Does that need a load of men in suits, carrying cases on £150k a year? No.Do you see gleaming chrome towers with steam coming out of valves? Nope? There is a very big Beach, with a shoreline & wet bit, full of Ilmenite, we have a load of people & diggers & places to stay. It's called Pituffik. The Danish & Greenland ministries think it has around a 17Gt, Giga/ Billion Tons ofthis Ilmenite. It's reckoned to be the biggest amount in the World. 7Gt has been erodedby a big Glacier. 1Gt is thought to form a lot of the sand on our licence.Going back to the Local, UK Gravel pit, think about it for a moment.Did that equipment cost many 10's of Millions? No.So, the Worlds biggest amount of Ilmenite- in the form of sand, shaken on site,Equals around 30% Ilmenite bearing sand. & currently it's going for $??? ton ! (Depends on grade, but risenWell according to Base & Kenmare)That is why the Market cap deserves a premium rating. Because there is a small capital outlay, Because it's understandable .....It's also The BIGGEST and will run for Decades at least. Two very large buyers just paid £millions for 9.78% and 7% respectively According to the Company website,Prudential- 75,000,000 shares 9.78%. A big U.K. Household name.Sand Grove Capital Management 42,857,143. 7.07%Sand Grove, a very interesting investment company...DYORFLU, apologies for errors.
Re: Disko rivals world leader Nickel Hello DD, great to hear this is still game on for you.And Jak, it seems you are barking up the wrong tree here and making you a VUP.Very unpleasant Person. So perhaps best for you to close your position and look for another tree.LPps, great reading from Mirabaud.!!
