Echostar must be serious with the disclosure of 3% already purchased on the open market and another $67 m spent on convertible bonds... hard to see them just walking away now...
Price target 850p All good but if the sale falls through the price will drop back to under £5 IMHO
Anyone still here? Gave up with III the site is now only fit to check portfolio prices.
Anyone still here? Just out of interest, I’m wondering who is still using this board regularly (@Gunnergadin obviously) and what Boards people have moved to or are considering. Despite complaints from others I’m relatively happy with this aspect of ii but have had to go elsewhere for up to date and interactive charts. I’m currently using Investing.Com on a trial basis. Charts are good but discussion seems non-existent for ISAT.
Sold today I finally sold out today, very happy with my eventual profit. I believe it has further to go but I’d rather be prudent at this stage. Good luck to those who remain.
Price target 850p Something is stirring this afternoon. Anyone any ideas?
Price target 850p As far as I’m aware no one knows the value of the initial approach and it appears to be anyone’s guess as to what ISAT is worth to Echostar. My hunch is 650 and I would currently sell at that, although I believe it could ultimately get to the 850 level mentioned as the target here.
Price target 850p Bloomberg.com EchoStar Weighs Raising Inmarsat Bid After Rejection EchoStar Corp. is considering raising its offer for rival Inmarsat Plc after its initial approach for the British satellite company was rejected as being too low, according to people familiar with the matter. “May or may notâ€. I personally think that the way GBP/USD is at the moment, its more likely to happen.

Re: Today's SP Bass Cadet; "Doesn't say how much the offer was for."Indeed, yet everyone seems to know about this except us PIs. Level playing field? NOT!Price went up all day, then finally....The Board of Inmarsat plc ("Inmarsat" or "the Company" notes today's recent press speculation and movement in its share price and confirms that it received a highly preliminary and indicative non-binding proposal from Echostar Corporation in relation to the potential acquisition of the entire issued, and to be issued, share capital of Inmarsat (the "Proposal". After carefully considering the Proposal with its advisers the Board rejected the Proposal on the basis that it very significantly undervalued Inmarsat and its standalone prospects. The Board remains highly confident in the independent strategy and prospects of Inmarsat. There can be no certainty either that any firm offer will be made or as to the terms on which any offer might be made. A further announcement will be made in due course as appropriate.---------- ---------- ---------- --------Apart from the very late RNS, The line "There can be no certainty ... as to the terms on which any offer might be made." takes the cake.Quite! Mainly because they did not tell us!!
Re: Today's SP Aye. Doesn't say how much the offer was for.
Re: Today's SP Looks like we now know why the share price went up:-[link]
Blessed are the patient for they shall recover their losses... kept the faith with this which duly plummeted after I bought some but glad I stuck with it (until the next nasty shock comes of course ...)
Re: Today's SP (Gunnergadin) Mr Barrington,I bought into it eighteen months, watched it go up and then watched it fall through the floor like everyone else has.I've only been at this investing lark for about fifteen years.Maybe you and I need to brush up on how these stop-loss things work...
Re: Today's SP (Gunnergadin) Me to Gunnergadin. Used to be a star* in my portfolio.Stupidly watched it fall from £9 and not knowing why. With 40 years of investing, you would think I should have learnt better!*Became a falling satellite
