Dreadful changes to the BB Whoever designed this website is a retarded, illiterate, uneducated idiot. And obviously the management of this company are also idiots to think it is Ok to have such a stupid website & inflict it on customers. Clearly, they have have contempt for their customers. It is therefore clear that it is a complete waste of time using this company for any purpose whatever. The sooner they go bust the better.
Dreadful changes to the BB Foglight, Same comments from me, hopeless, cannot be bothered to go thru all the rigmarole and still not find out anything useful. Javbri
Dreadful changes to the BB re - edited I know is there, but tell me how to do it, because I have not managed yet, the last time a couple days ago, it went blank
IQE a week away from half year significantly disappoints Given that the half year is a week away I would have expected some excitement building amonst investors leading to buyers pushing up the share price. The current malaise leads me to believe there are some serious doubts about this companies ability to deliver strong top and particularly bottom line growth. It is still close to 10% of my holdings but I am getting decidedly nervous about it’s place as a growth stock in my portfolio.
IQE News and Views - The new thread for regular IQE posters Thank-you for the link, and for persevering with this site! It feels as if it is breaking up. I have hung on to these shares for such a long time! perhaps it is waking up?! Re: this site: I actually went and signed up to IG this afternoon but chickened out in the end. I have been with ii for too long and am too old for change BUT I have to say IG are good. I even had a ‘minder’ to help me with any problems. Its a case of the prisoner frightened of space! LL

IQE News and Views - The new thread for regular IQE posters Interesting post over on LSE from rivaldo. On page 65: assets.ctfassets.net DC_5gMapping_FinalforWeb_Single.pdf 1832.92 KB “IQE is ideally positioned to provide components to the emerging 5G ecosystem, from 5G handsets to ubiquitous IoT devices. Currently some 80% of its revenues are being obtained from existing 4G devices. It is worth noting that although the UK does not have big chip manufacturing factories based in the country, UK councils in the Cardiff Capital Region are set to develop a foundry for technology behind 5G in Newport, which could create about 2,000 high skilled jobs in five years. Funding of nearly £38m has been announced for the facility to make compound semiconductors. The factory will be owned by the councils and is projected to create £375m of private sector investment over the next five yearsâ€. Great post by sweenoid about this elsewhere: "The 5G Nation I advice anyone interested in 5G to read this report, it’s based on a U.K. perspective. I have scanned the report and then focused on what I find interesting It’s a great read, but don’t go in expecting to see IQE named, obviously the ‘catapult ‘ is central to U.K. plans. If it’s all too much, just be reassured that 5G is going to be a goldmine for IQE, both in terms of provision of the necessary infrastructure , but also in the smartphones/pads and whatever other devices emerge that will utilise 5G. It’s impossible to imagine the effect 5G will have on our daily lives and it’s coming closer and closer. Drew Nelson, our CEO once again said at the AGM , it’s coming sooner than Many imagine, obviously he has a global perspective…because he will have been talking to many of the global ‘players’ , he knows you know. A few quick giveaways - in years to come we will all be talking about the ‘tactile’ internet , go read something about that- fascinating, absolutely fascinating. The ‘killer’ applications for 5G are going to be AR and VR - augmented and virtual reality, it’s astonishing to realise that ultra Fidelity VR consumes 50 Times the bandwidth of a high definition video stream! These killer Apps are of course totally dependent on Compound Semiconductors in particular VCSELS, and with their widespread adoption in ‘world- facing’ camera arrays ensures that all those reactors in Newport are going to be kept rather busy Have a butchers assets.ctfassets.net DC_5gMapping_FinalforWeb_Single.pdf 1832.92 KB As a quick ‘aside’ the applications for 3D sensing in automotive and industrial applications abound- remember AMS believe that industrial 3D sensing will be even bigger than wireless and automotive ( even with the huge demand of LIDAR) ! As such this paper is interesting - just read the abstract hTt
IQE News and Views - The new thread for regular IQE posters Yes. I dropped in here by accident having seen IQE in the type, but if I leave I am quite certain that within a few clicks I will be lost in the maze again! Bewildering is NOT the word—the word is horrific. TOO MUCH. TOO COMPLEX. and I only have one change of underwear!
IQE News and Views - The new thread for regular IQE posters Good try T & C. I think most people have already voted with their feet, or are finding it too difficult to navigate around. Such a shame, I never posted much but followed the boards almost every day, as I am sure many more did. We will never get the old board back, will ii listen and try to improve things, it is really unbelievable what a mess they have made. Read somewhwere they had consulted with 400 posters over the new layout, anybody out there who was one of these? We will just have to see what happens, I am not optimistic.
IQE New and Views - The new thread for regular IQE posters To kick things off here is a great little site for a range of information, charts RNS and latest tips and news. [link] Also below is a post from Sweenoid over on ADVFN, I hope he won’t mind me re-posting it here! sweenoid15 Jun '18 - 11:46 - 17907 of 17917 0 7 0 Without boring everyone rigid by being too repetitive a few comments that I find interesting. VCSELS V EE- edge emitting lasers for 3 D sensing is important, you won’t see it in the AGM slides , but Drew Nelson made it obvious that VCSELS are far superior to EE lasers, so I asked “ if VCSELS are so superior, why are some Android customers choosing EE’s from the likes of Lumentum and Himax, also if they are, are we supplying them with the EE wafers†His response was IQE, indeed supply both, but from IQE’s perspective, customers far preferred the VCSEL route and he saw little demand for EE’s for 3D sensing. Last night we get this from Finisar I don’t think the customers seem nearly as excited about edge emitters as they were, let’s say even a quarter ago. So we’re working on all the different aspects of 3D sensing you’ve got structured light, we’ve got time of flight. Those are our focus areas and certainly that’s where we see much more of the customer traction. In other words there has been a huge move from consideration and planning for use of EE’s IN FAVOUR OF VCSELS. Well the market for WIRELESS 3D sensing via VCSELS was big enough anyhow, but this makes it bigger for the higher margin side of the business. Another important point and bare in mind some of our biggest customers are also competitors as well- let’s focus on the biggest- Lumentum. Have a look at the last 2 Lumentum conference calls and see what they say about EE’s for 3D sensing for Android customers and bare in mind Apple ONLY use VCSELS. If you can’t be arsed, I will quickly summarise, Lumentum WERE saying - we are scaling up our EE business to supply what we see as a big demand. So what’s the relevance to IQE,you may ask? Well folks, it looks like our biggest customer for VCSELS ( but also able to manufacture small volumes themselves) is being DISTRACTED and using significant resources in terms of cash and manpower and infrastructure Capex into providing for a demand that is shrinking if not dissapearing?! As Finisar said the interest in EE had decreased a lot even within a 1/4. I guess this goes down to core competency and management predictions about novel, new markets and in Lumentums case, seemingly making some decisions that may be costly, if Lumentum are distracted, that’s good for us. Whatever, it shows the opposite for IQE, whose management has its knockers but as far as I can see, the acquisition policies, the patent portfolio expansion and the total focus on high value markets with the RIGHT IP and strategy, capabilities and skills seems to provide a wonderful foundation for a superb future? You make up your own minds S END Now if everyone just follows on from here with comments on this topic track, we have the same BB experience all-be-it a bit more spaced out as the old iii board except we no longer have heading for each post.
IQE New and Views - The new thread for regular IQE posters RULE - Only IQE related comment, News and Views. All constructive comment view welcome, that doesn’t mean it always has to be positive, we all have a view and an opinion. RULE - Respect other posters Stick to one thread and you have the same BB, date driven system as before. Once we get a few posts on here it will always be at the top and people will know where to post and the regular old posters will soon be back together chatting. I’m trying to be positive here and making the best of it. Lets get some chat going surely there has been news waiting to be posted, lets get going! My hope is we can get 10 or 15 posts to get the ball rolling.
Dreadful changes to the BB ADVFN - I post as sweenoid

Re: IQE trades Dave - you constantly assume IQE's increasing sales will fall to the bottom line pro rata. Dangerous assumption. Sales are show - profits (unadjusted ones that turn into cash) are dough. IQE's record of making them is poor. The same people are at the helm and there's competition out there. Their big B to C customers aren't likely to be noted for their generosity to suppliers.Don't tell me - IQE has an invincible position because of qualifications that make its VCSELs unique and vital for its customers to use. Can't wait to find out how unique and vital. No doubt IQE can charge anything it likes because Apple et al are like putty in IQE's hands. As evidence of this, I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing the directors topping up their holdings in the market fairly soon, having persuaded the victims of the recent placing the shares were such good value at 140p.imo/dyor
Re: IQE trades You are of course partly right, but mostly wrongIQE of course via its wireless business ( supplying CS material for the PAs in smartphone frontends) has and always will be exposed to the smartphone cycle. However, the KEY revenue earner for IQE in the next smartphone cycle is VCSELS for 3D sensing , facial recognition and then AR and VR Even if Apple has reduced its orders from 100 million to 80million for 2018 , that is still great news for IQE. 3D sensing is all but confirmed in the article you quoted from and seemingly will be included in the 2 top end OLED screen phones AND the lower priced LCD screen- all 3 modelsIt takes a simpleton therefore to figure that those 80 million phones will have 3D sensing hence need VCSELS Last year only 1/3 the new 2017 iPhones had 3D sensing - the X - it has sold 50% of the total.Simple maths showed that about 40million iPhones whipped with VCSELS in them in the last months of 2017In 2018 however the likelihood is that EVEN if ONLY the 80 million phones postulated are sold , ALL are likely to contain VCSELS DOUBLE LAST YEARS.SO even in the worse case scenario AND discounting any Android phones that come this year with true depth facial recognition IQE WILL DOUBLE ITS LUCRATIVE BUSINESS..I am really devastated with that Poor research , poor reporting, no common sense- no change there then, with the markets knee jerk, unresearched and nonsense reporting.
