Re: Results o/t willow Hi jd, i actually sold my PPC and 50% of my AMER. I am de-risking and am taking some modest losses there. There's a lot of garbage written about Iomart -- the motley fool article is one of the worst pieces of financial journalism i have ever read. I think the SP fall is a response to perceived falling organic growth and general competition concerns. They are settling into a 15% EPS growth / x15 PER kind of stock where the market is suggesting the real excitment has now gone. My own gut feel is that they will get taken out by a trade or more likely a private equity buyer. Let's face it, we turned our noses up somewhat at a 300p bid just 6m ago....how many of us would do the same now?

Re: interim results I say hold, I just bought a few thousand more at 170p this morning.

Re: interim results The price fall is broadly tracking the price fall of the FTSE-100. When that reverses this will too, I'm sure. It happened yesterday despite the good results, it happened in October when the FTSE-100 was falling, when it started rising again, so did IOM. It's ludicrous. All you can do is hold and perhaps top up. It's the falling oil price that is causing the FTSE-100 to fall. I suspect it will keep falling as long as the price of oil declines. It's really quite ludicrous and appears to be herd mentality, probably mixed in with a little bit of share price manipulation.

interim results Just think what the sp would be if the results where bad.Not many companies i know loose 50-60p on fairly decent results and as far as i can see to-day they have been given a "buy rating" throughout

tempus Scottish data centre and computing outfit Iomart has been left behind by the wave of private-equity funded purchases of UK tech firms this year. The underlying business is doing well enough however, with first half revenues expanding at a 28% clip and pre-tax profits up by 27%. Yet investors were not impressed by those numbers, sending the shares sharply into reverse. Even so, analyst at FinnCap believe the company will eventually find a home, hence its 285p target price for the company's shares. Furthermore, the stock now changes hands at just 14 times forward earnings. Nevertheless, it may prove a bumpy ride until the above analysts are proved correct. So hold on tight says Tempus.

Investors Chronicle - BUY Clear skies at iomartShares in iomart (IOM) tumbled a fifth after the company disappointed investors with organic growth in hosting revenues of just 8 per cent, down from double-digit growth a year ago. On the bright side, it posted a 28 per cent increase in operating profit to £6.2m.The outsourcer - which saves small- and medium-sized enterprises the costs, complexities and security risks of storing and hosting their own data - stands to be a major beneficiary of trends such as 'big data', the 'Internet of Things' and cybersecurity. "We're selling peace of mind," says chief executive Angus MacSween. Indeed, companies that have shunned outsourcing due to concerns over data security are gradually realising "that particular emperor has no clothes".But that doesn't protect the company from the rapacious growth of cloud services from the likes of Amazon and Microsoft. Iomart's strategy is to offer hybrid solutions that incorporate elements of its larger rivals' offerings. It has already partnered with Microsoft, Dell and EMC, gaining a foothold in the enormous US market in the process. Management warns that paying subscription fees will push operating costs up, but expects lower capital spending and depreciation charges to leave iomart's excellent margins intact.Broker finnCap expects full-year pre-tax profit of £17.1m, giving EPS of 12.7p, rising to £20.2m and 15p in 2015 (from £14.6m and 10.9p in 2013).IC VIEW:Shares in iomart trade on 14 times forecast earnings, which looks cheap given the company's strong growth profile and exposure to several fast-growing markets. Buy.

Re: results TW bearcast today mentions IOMART.Customer attrition was his take on the reason for the fall and worries over earnings visibility as a result.

tommytomata 09 Dec 2014

Re: Results The numbers have always grown half year by half year so that's quite normal ...dividing in half doesn't make sense

Enthusiast 09 Dec 2014

Re: Results Having just bought at 182p I looked up recent trades and saw that at 10.10 over a million were sold at 180p and, all but mine and another, the little ones were also sellers. Incomprehensible. Believe the bottom has been reached but with sales being 80% of the total 1.66m I can't see much chance of an early recovery.

Re: Results 44% increase in EBITDA - what do people want !!

Re: Results I've just added up the first 66 trades over the first 20 min of today's trading when the mid price fell 35 points from 220 to 185, according to the BUY / SELL indicator (ok we know its not 100%) there were roughly £129K sells vs £35K buys. All low volume so you'd have to guess mostly PI's.Looks as others have said this is prob profit taking.
