would be nice of the directors to show a little faith and buy a few shares...!!!!!hahahaMadoff j

and now a strike....!!!! Probably haven't even got the funds to sue them....?Madoff j
Sailing mighty close to banking covenants that's for sure.I haven't 'topped up' for obvious reasons.Of little conciliation but everyone else must be suffering too, look at the share prices of Lonmin and ferrex.Compensation from Lonmin (?) certainly helped-lack of supply, but as discussed earlier too much supply and falling market and prices.Who blinks first......?
Re: phil mccaviti and all/ Well Madoff Jnr, did you top up again with any more IFL shares below 2p, or even 1p after last week's news? Will IFL recover to be a good going concern in the future, in your opinion, and why?Production is at a loss it seems and, if stopped, it doesn't look like IFL will be able to pay their residual staff and fund any re-start of their plants - or am I wrong here?
Wonder what the profitability of other ferro-chrome producers is....? If we are a low cost producer in comparison then perhaps their losses are even worse....? Who and when will someone be forced to raise prices...?Just a thought,
Re: Buying Tough operating conditions in South Africa and slowing steel demand in China kept International Ferro (LON:IFL) in the red in its latest half year.Production of ferrochrome, used to harden and make stainless steel, rose by 4% to 51,000 tonnes in the final quarter to June. Sales edged up to 51,600 tonnes. Full year production was just over 198,000 tonnes.Chris Jordaan, chief executive, said South Africa remained very challenging with power supply issues and higher labour costs while ferrochrome prices had fallen due to lower imports into China. The operating loss in the second half will be similar to the first half, IFL said. The pre-tax deficit in the first half was R176mln (£9mln).Borrowings over the second half fell to R450mln (£22.5mln) but are expected to range between R480-500mln in the near future.New financing options are being considered Jordaan said, while the performance and cash flows of the business will continue to be under pressure unless there is a sustained improvement in the ferrochrome price, but this is unlikely while there is an oversupply situation.Shares fell 33% to 1.3p.
Re: Buying Good company - wrong metal at wrong time - buying was maybe due to someone reckoning IFL and two others were cheap (Lonmin was another) - time for IFL to mothball if poss and come back in 3 to 5 years - cant see anyone wanting to buy it as the world is awash with the stuff.
Re: ouch...!!!! We are into survival territory here. I have had these shares for years with an average of about 20p. Was feeling quite positive about a year ago, started making a profit thought a corner had been turned but it has just gonna from bad to worse. Unfortunately the macro-economics all seem to be stacked up against them. Best we can hope for is a take-over bid - with a current market cap of about £8mill there must be some giant out there looking at this and thinking cheap strategic asset! Guess we can only hope!GLA
ouch...!!!! Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse,it does. Can't see any positives in this RNS anywhere and as cash running out........not looking good.Best option-go on holiday and reduce total output for 6 months and get all the other ferro producers to do the same......
Buying Lots of buys gone through today - highest volume in ages..Either some good news around the corner or people chancing their arm on good result Thursday after seeing high broker targets and fancying a gamble.
Re: Sliding down This stock requires news that indicates a clear turn around in fortunes and a clear route to consistent profitability and future dividends. Without this the slide will continue.Unfortunately I should of thought of this before I bought in many moons ago.GLA
Sliding down Seems to be principally buys today but still the price slides down?
Re: Production Report Here's hoping your wrong!Trying to keep things into perspective- 1477312 shares traded so far today may seem quite a lot for IFL but it only adds up to about £30k! I guess that's hardly a mass exodus.
Re: Production Report The production report was originally scheduled for last week, then got moved to today, now it's next week. Last year it was out by July 17th. This is concerning -- my guess is there's some post period news that they want to include in the report. Given the way the sp is moving it would appear that it's bad news (there are always some insiders that get the news before the rest of us). Let's hope I'm wrong.
