Re: RNS: Back in the black Well and truly bucking the trend now.. boomy!

Mr Millionare 08 Mar 2017

RNS: Back in the black Great news for investors, unfortunately not reflected in the share price just yet, probably due to the decline in PM prices over the past few days. Should the PM secular bull resume, as a number of commentators are suggesting then HOC is likely to rocket past 300 which is still significantly below all time highs despite reduction in debt and improved mine efficiency. For a primary silver mine it does surprise me how little chatter there is on this board. FRES seems to get all the action even though HOC has much bigger potential. I recently read David Morgan and David Smiths 'Second Chance: How to Make and Keep Big Money from the Coming Gold and Silver Shock-Wave' If their predictions come to pass, then HOC is definitely one to consider.

Re: Hochschild resolves Pallancata dispute Told you so Biggest winner in FTSE 350 today 9.30% (iii do it a different way to LSE and others):[link] biggest cash and percentage winner today Gold and silver up 1/3% today imagine what would happen if they go up 1%.

Rhigos 23 Jan 2017

Hochschild resolves Pallancata dispute I suspect this dispute is what has been causing high volatility recently. A 12.2% rise today on this good news is very pleasing. Still 19% down on last August peak, Could easily go higher IMO.

correction to typo in 1st paragraph shugg1e,You are probably right, the recent rise following results makes profit taking a plausible reason. The other two reasons contributing. This would square with fact that FRES fell 3.4% yesterday while HOC fell more than twice as much.

Re: Why SP -7.8% today? As said it had gone up a lot and the figures weren't great

Re: Why SP -7.8% today? shugg1e,You are probably right, the recent rise falling results makes profit taking a plausible reason. The other two reasons contributing. This would square with fact that FRWS fell 3.4% yesterday while HOC fell more than twice as much.In early trade HOC rose to 228.35, +2.6%. This is quite encouraging as gold and silver both down today and trending down. No significant shorting activity on HOC.I agree with pete011111 (pete ten) "I never pay any attention to them. the time we hear about it all their clients have already made their trades".However broker recommendations, by well respected ones, do move SP and if you think they are wrong you can bet against them. Often the market over reacts to recommendations and later there is a correction so do not think they should be ignored.

Re: Why SP -7.8% today? Thu, 19th January 2017 - 14:40JP Morgan Cazenove today reaffirms its neutral investment rating on Hochschild Mining PLC (LON:HOC) and cut its price target to 265p (from 270p).from "news" tab here on iiiI never pay any attention to them. the time we hear about it all their clients have already made their trades. All a load of bx anyway

Re: Why SP -7.8% today? silver priceprofit takingdollar strength

Rhigos 19 Jan 2017

Why SP -7.8% today? There are no broker downgrades on HOC today that I could find on first search. No RNS.Found downgrade from analyst at Royal Bank of Canada: [link] today's big fall in SP is an aberration and I expect a big rise in SP tomorrow. Could be wrong of course, time will tell. I note on some other discussion boards on different web sites there is a chatter about Trump which they think could be driving SP, sounds far fetched to me.

Production report, record ouput Fromm CSS:Hochschild Mining said it beat its production target in 2016 to hit a new record level of output, helped by outperformance from the Inmaculada mine in Peru, as the company said growth should continue this year. Overall production in 2016 to 35.5m silver equivalent ounces, nearly one-third higher than the 27m ounces produced in 2015. On a gold equivalent basis, production rose year-on-year to 479,600 ounces from 365,400 ounces. Results seemed very good surprised SP has not gone up more. With weak pound holding shares in precious metal miners make sense.

Re: why drop Might be some good news dueIt is fairly oversold short term

Rhigos 12 Dec 2016

Re: why drop Now question is why big rise today? Silver price only a little higher than on Friday. FRES down nearly 3^ this morning so why is HOC up over 3%? Could not find any new broker updates. Could just be a correction from recent falls I suppose.

shugg1e 16 Nov 2016

Re: why drop Looks in danger of falling back to the 200 day SMA around the 190p area but only if silver has a final leg down. There's still wat too much bullishness on miners
