The increased 635 offer regected. You can buy them today for 517 ...Will they increase ? market must think it will fail.
Proposed offer increased to 635p. Late Monday evening the 'proposed' offerwas increased to 635p.Rejected by Hammerson board.Hang in there.
Shorters caught short? Immediately before the 'bid' approach announcement-the disclosed short positions reached 3%.That has now dropped to 1.2%.That must have been an expensive position to close!
intu vote:the key to the final outcome Hammerson shareholders still have to vote on the intu deal;(April 28th.-- I think)If the potential bidder (Kilpierre) is serious - it will surely buy up some HMSO shares in the market and exercise its vote against the shaky proposed merger- thus undermining the Hammerson board. I expect negotiations to buy stakes are already taking place)I think a firm bid will emerge; the Kilpierre intervention was timed to do the most damage.Goldman Sachs act for Kilpierre.(GS recently upgraded HMSO to BUY.)All very interesting.
Re: INTU sp probably because the bid was for standalone Hammerson (without INTU)
Re: INTU sp <<It jumped on the news OF the bid !!>>No a lot though .... see below
INTU sp I guess I must have missed something, but can someone please tell me why the shareprice of INTU has not tracked HMSO following it's jump up on news of the rejected bid? As I recall the offer was .475 shares in combined group.Regards ...
Re: Take-Off Was wondering if i still had some of these thank God for 29/01/18... :- )RNS this morning of a bid @ 615p ( even better can see that's below my slice )
Re: Proposal at 615p rejected Absolutely YES. Unfortunately it isn't in the best interests of the board of directors. Dont know whether to Sell now and limit my losses or hold on for an increased off
Proposal at 615p rejected Todays' announcements reflect the unfortunate fact thatthe Hammerson Board has lost a deal of support since it surprised the market with an agreed bid for the struggling Intu.I would bite the hand of anybody offering me 615p for my holding at this point in time.I suspect there are many shareholders in similar mood.
Re: Take-Off First in 16/03/11 @ 4.25 .. sliced 29/01/15 @ 687.12Topped up today @ 494.6 pConsistently same day of year as slice 3 years ago .
Upgrade by GS Goldman Sachs upgrades HMSO today-to BUY from neutral- which possibly accounts for the sp increase.
Re: From an investment context it's whether you see current NAV discountas offering reasonable risk/reward.HMSO announced another asset sale today near NAV, so there are buyers, that's the second sale in recent weeks. Some of the larger planned disposals may be more challenging. My very rudimentary take is the discount allows for a lot, however the sector, UK macro challenges and political risks are hanging heavy atm.Although I bought a small amount today, will not click a Buy as not a high conviction holding.
Re: HAMMERSON Technically Very Strong.. Less so these days!.Bought acsmall amount before the close.
"coalition of weak business models..." I agree with the below extract from the Telegraph (online): ".........Mike Prew, analyst a Jefferies said rather than a cash bid for a high-quality UK Reit [real estate investment trust] by an overseas buyer which would trigger a re-rating of the sector, this was a coalition of weak business models.Or weak management??
